So its confirmed that 801s is LTE version and 801e is not? or both are compatible with LTE?
*
Here's something to confuse everyone even more.

When you register online with SIS, the system will ask you to choose your phone from a list.
On that list, the One is listed as "801e" (you get to pick your colour). Having registered more than a week ago, I can't quite remember, but I'm pretty sure there was no listing for "801s".

It's generally understood by those who have been following the news on the phone long enough that the 801s is the correct model for use on the LTE spectrums/spectra here and in Singapore (2600/1800 MHz). And I'm certain that the vast majority of us who have purchased the phone here and in Sg have the 801s.

Maybe it's just listed wrongly (or for some other reason) in the SIS system as "801e" and whenever someone checks, that's what they see.

If you already have the phone, or are looking at a new box in a shop, you can refer to:
1. the top left hand corner of the sticker on the side of the box cover
2. the end of the second last line of text at the bottom of the back of your phone

if you see "801s", and you already own the phone, congratulations.
if you don't already own one, just go ahead buy the damn thing!

801s is indeed the LTE version. So far no one has 801e.
The mix up i think is caused by SIS selection of phone model
in their drop down menu during warranty registration ( 801e not 801s )

For sure I think once you check your IMEI with them it shows 801e. But when
you look at the back of the phone or the box shows 801s.

If one look closely , there are 2 versions of  the 801s; one for Asia PN0710000 and Aussie PN0714000. Are on on the same LTE freq spectrum? No issues if we are ...can anyone verify please?
*
Goodness!
I would imagine that if you went so far as to be able to find differing versions of the 801s, it would only take you another minute to find the answer to your question online, no?

We use 2600/1800 MHz and Australia uses only 1800 MHz right now.
There's certainly one spectrum in common!

Not really sure of the point of your question, though.
Or indeed what your question actually is biggrin.gif

Since on the list of SIS system only mentioned 801e, how to register the warranty then?
*
Just choose it.
You'll have to enter your serial and imei numbers, plus all your personal details, anyway.
All that (and your purchase receipt) will ultimately prove more important. smile.gif

Dear users,

Er, this HTC One can't install adobe flash right? x.x ~

Cause in my Tab I'm able to watch movie using browsers.

But in HTC xleh, got audio no video :S..Black box only.

Anyone know how to fix this ?

Thanks
*
Funny you asked that.
This phone is one of the few new mobile devices that still comes with Flash preinstalled.

Not sure what your problem is, but it's not because there's no swf player.
Are you using the stock browser or something else you downloaded?

4G = LTE( long term evolution) there have different band frequency for different country. YES is base on WIMAX band signal. It's not 4G.

I really wish people would reply to posts only if they are certain they know what they are talking about.
Or, at the very least, do a little bit of research first.
Otherwise, it just adds to other people's confusion.

4G on a GSM-based phone like the HTC One indicates LTE, so you will not be able to receive YES's WiMax service.
However, this does not mean that WiMax is not a version of 4G, which generally just refers to fourth-generation mobile networks.

Yes was the first mobile 4G service (the P1 network is not designed to be mobile and is a joke anyway) in Malaysia and continues to be the most widespread by far, with over 4000 base stations and counting. In comparison, the 3 main Malaysian telcos have a combined total of maybe just a few hundred, and it will take them another 2 years at least to establish proper nationwide coverage and a large user base. Meanwhile, Yes will adopt LTE (to work alongside WiMax) as well and still be ahead in the mobile 4G game.

And if you want to compare speeds, wait until the LTE user base on Maxis or Celcom goes up.
You'll see the speeds gradually coming down to the same levels as Yes, and I would imagine, not be as consistent.

If, on the other hand, you meant that "4G on your HTC One phone does not indicate that you are receiving a WiMax signal from Yes," then I humbly apologise.

I don't work for YTL Communications.
I just appreciate the Yes service and the huge amount of innovative tech behind it.

I can download the app but sometimes cannot. I tried download some apps this morning but only 1 or 2 apps success downloaded. Sometimes when I browse or search for apps, it shows No Data Connection......

If you're having problems with mobile data, it may be as simple as switching your phone off, then on again.

It works, even if you think everything is working fine.
Sometimes you just can't tell what the problem is, as the data and signal indicators look active.

People with the experience don't seem to want to 100% clarify this, but from what I have read here:

"4G" = HSPA+
"LTE" = LTE

I would help clarify to all, but I am on Celcom and LTE for smartphones is not out yet.
I only ever see "H" at best
Celcom are talking iPhone LTE next (only 1800 MHz), after their current LTE modem.

The Maxis customers are the only ones who can be definitive on the subject.

To make myself even clearer, what I UNDERSTAND from other posts is that:

If it says "4G" on your HTC One, it means you are receiving HSPA+
If it says "LTE" on your HTC One, it means you are receiving LTE

But no one wants to explicitly state this.
They only want to sound authoritative on the subject by glossing over it.

QUOTE(ronint @ May 26 2013, 04:27 PM)
Hsdpa + is a 4g wireless technology that allows up to 168mbps download speed and as 4g LTE is a 4g tech that allows download speed up to 299mbps.

So golden question is what is displayed on htc one 4g means?  LTE or hsdpa+..  Well from what I know the only htc ones that will display LTE instead of 4g is from AT&T n for gsm international HTC one it will display 4g will never display 4g. Unfortunately whether our htc one 4g is actually LTE speed or not no way to confirm
*
If you actually take the trouble to read earlier posts, you will know what I mean.
Some posters talk about seeing "4G" n some talk about seeing "LTE" on their LOCAL HTC One phones.

On top of that, there is no such thing as HSDPA+, it's HSPA+.
Whatever it is, LTE is not defined by pure speed any more.
I don't have time to talk about definitions but Google what the ITU defines as 4G and you'll see that nothing is that cut and dried. The existing evolved 3G technologies that have been commercially deployed are considered as 4G but true 4G according to the ITU are next-gen LTE and WiMax 2.

Please read/research carefully before posting replies.

I have 4g displayed on top and network indicating LTE..download speed 45mbps on Maxis network..I guess 4G is LTE.
Does anyone have LTE indicated on their phone instead of 4G using Maxis?
*
Ooh, thanks very much.
Finally, some clarity.

Dunno if anyone sees "LTE", but if I remember correctly, there's a veteran poster here called Uncle Benny who posts about "LTE" and not "4G" on his phone. Maybe if he reads this, he can set us straight ;-)

Each Sg set is an 801s, like ours.
But if I remember correctly, the Sg set he had was for his brother.
He subsequently bought a local set for himself.

yeah..I've seen E, 3G, H and 4G at the signal bar of my HO..where(location) can it show LTE?..I remember there's a forumer here post pic with his HO with LTE showing.

but that 4G only get about 12mbps of speed when tested with Speedtest.net..is that good or poor?
*
You're luckier than me bro ;-)
My Celcom has only gone up to H.

Unlike you, I don't remember the LTE signal indicator, only Uncle Benny mentioning LTE without explicitly stating that's what he sees on his phone's menu bar.

My best guess is that our local sets will only show "4G".
The next question is whether this includes HSPA+ or only LTE.

Here we go, guys!
Both "4G" and "LTE" have now been reported as displayed.

Guess we'll only know more as the rest of us are able to receive the signals ;-)
