You won't get the exclusive Telco locks in Malaysia, it's not how our Telcos work. Mainly because the consumers can't be trusted with initial low price for contracts. tongue.gif

If I understand it correctly, the slow processing time is only present when you choose to save the 36MP picture. And of course, the other question is... we don't really know exactly how slow it is, while we're definetly not firing off 3 to 4 shots per second, a 2 ~ 3 second wait per shot is ok if you know you want the quality.

If you're asking why would I be buying a 1020 if I'm not going to be shooting 36MP at all times? First of all, the 36MP will always be there for me to use when I need I, secondly the optics and xenon flash still comes into play even if I don't use the full 36MP

Another reason why I won't assign Pro Cam to my camera button is that any additional camera apps CAN NOT be activated on a locked phone. Probably due to the fact that MS still doesn't trust the developers to be able to implement what the standard camera app does when activated in a lock screen. I need quick activation of the camera app because when taking pics of kids you want to go from pocket to shot as fast as possible!

If I understand it correctly, it should be in Pro Cam only and only if you selected to save the 36MP picture. You can always just wait for the other users to buy it and feedback first.

Dedicated chip makes it hard to update the algorithms, and everyone seems to think it's the processing that's thiking time. Hasn't anyone thought about the time taken to write the large file to the storage?

Arguments like that is a bit moot, while the camera of the 808 is great, the platform is obsolete, but hey.. if it works for you..

Yeah, complaining that the price is too high is a never ending cycle, but I just can't help but think that they could have dropped it a few hundred by not included the camera grip.

It's confirmed that the retail price is RM2499 with the grip, there's no WITHOUT grip bundle as of now.

The 1020 is not supposed to take better, sharper pictures than your DSLR. Remember, the best camera is the one you have on you and the 1020 is supposed to be that camera which you have on you all the time and delivers great results.
