Have I been away from the Phone thread too long? Seeing most of the folks from the previous Nokia N8 thread makes me feel so at home when I'm reading the threads here in 1020. My initial decision was to get a 925, however when I was searching up for 1020 (no harm searching), I can consider my backside itchy already. LOL!!!

I'm still using my faithful Nokia N8 (not ashamed but bottom cover very loose already) and back then I was counting down with the LOWYAT folks on the Symbian flagship. Come to think of it, it's been close to 3 years and I still haven't make my final decision until this thread. Feel so at home!

You wouldn't itch so much if you bought the RM999 808.

Hahaha!!! Funny story is, while my sister was getting the Lumia 820, this bubbly Nokia lady brows.gif pops-out and was asking me to purchase the 808. I was very tempted but I refrain, somehow have an instinct that something like 1020 is giving birth really soon. LOL!!!

welcome back to the family brother...i hope you will find peace here  smile.gif
i also before been using n8 until n808 come out. n8 is so tough, keep dropping and slipping to the floor, but the phone function is still ok. Same with n808, i accidentally drop it a few times...with back cover, battery just pop up to nowhere. Still ok, no scratches and the function is still unbelievably ok. never have any regret for both phones  nod.gif

Thank you Thank you so much for the welcome notworthy.gif . Yeah! The hardware portion of my Nokia N8 really does amazed me. Come to think of it, I've dropped it a couple of times too and to check whether it's still functioning (which is AOK). Now, this phone is really tough as rock! I didn't buy a cover or anything, so the scratches are bound to be visible. My bad. cry.gif

How about you hold on for a while and grab the almighty ten-twenty?  icon_idea.gif  icon_idea.gif  icon_idea.gif

Oh yeah babehh... I'm holding on. Meanwhile, I think I'm gonna find some way to prevent the bottom part of my phone from dropping. It's annoying when I'm picking up the phone. Also, I realised when the bottom part is loose, signal is gone. Sigh~
Now, with your encouragement, I'll be holding on by looking forward to my lovely 1020. (Oh Babeh, pls come fast! Papa's missing you already!!!)

Some review by DPReviw:
"The Lumia 1020’s image quality is best-in-class: in both bright and low light conditions, it delivers impressive performance. In good light, the high-resolution sensor captures a tremendous amount of detail, even in darker, low-contrast parts of a scene that many competitors tend to smear with noise reduction. Colors are punchy but generally well rendered. The 5MP images are nicely sharpened and ready for sharing."

for those who doesn't know dpreview, it's basically a photographers porn site for review.

Also the points:
The Apple iPhone 5 camera scored a 8.0
The HTC One camera scored a 7.5
The Samsung Galaxy S4 scored an 8.0
The Blackberry Z10 camera scored a 6.9
The Nokia 808 Pureview score a 9.0.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 score a 8.8.

The good and the bad:
The Good

Best-in-class overall image quality
Zoom doesn’t compromise image quality
Best-in-class low light performance
Well-designed full manual control in camera app
Sunlight-visible screen
Solid ergonomics with two-stage shutter release
Very good flash performance
Nice panorama mode
Very good video quality, especially in low light
Optional camera grip available

The Bad

Long shot-to-shot times
Slow camera app startup
No control over imaging parameters like sharpening, saturation or contrast
No HDR or true burst modes
Images soft in corners
Imaging app support limited compared to closest competition

After reading the whole review, this is one heck of an amazing review!
