I think you have all missed the point of the 1020.

It is not meant for us Nokia die-hards. It is meant to lure away more ImaDrone users.
I see the 1020 as a lateral release to the 92x series. The more reasons you give Imadrone users to move away from their current devices the better chance you have of snagging them for good once they realize how crappy ios and droid are. Then they realize just how superior Nokia phones are regardless of OS.

Give and Take; Seeing the sample and videos they capture the presentation sample on GsmArena blog, it's very good already.
It's capable of producing good quality 38MP file plus PureView mode which provide true losses zoom and there is OIS.
And finally, it's running WP8 (albeit I'm not a fan of WP), but comparing with dated Symbian, at least you have more modern apps, features, etc.
In terms of Camera and the OS, there is give and take for both.

For me, I would say it's worth to upgrade from 808PV, to get a more useful smartphone with great camera. Just hoping the price isn't too steep.

Yea OIS and better low light performance makes 1020 a worth phone to go for especially with 41MP.

But in detail I have a feeling 808 pureview is better.

Audio recording 808 is better

overall its a good combination. To capture the photos i did on 808 pureview is indeed very challenging. Especially low light shutter speed exposure very long.

how fast the 1020 and 808 shoot in lowlight? not long exposure type, if let it auto?

I would tend to agree, the average consumer will prefer the post processed look; i.e. similar to Apple and Android.
And i Hope Nokia adds a "natural or vivid" setting so users can change the amount of auto sharpening done, so they can cater for both groups of consumers.
This has to be priced at less than RM2K (say RM1899 ?). Anything higher and people will wait (including me) when it hits the next price cut at RM1699+/- level.

Im happy that the shutter speed is getting longer and longer, N8 only limited to half a second, 808 is 2.7 sec and this 1020 at 4 sec. But I would like to see lower ISO preferably 50 then it would be great. Still they took this long to do it, my old Sony k850 could do 2 sec  exposure and ISO as low as 40 with modded camera driver. Landscape at night looks amazing.

Yea , I've been wondering for quite some time , why do phones not come with 1080p @ 60fps option? Not that it couldn't handle the processing. Last I seen was that the S4 had the option on the specs that was shown in their unveiling event but that was a typo I guess.

Its unfair you ask specify question like that u should also ask why lumia cant real time multi task when symbian less than 1ghz single core can.

Android have it you can open all the apps you want and it stays open.

I never have any push notification issue because its all running in the background.

When its 4.0 above thats where the experience is acceptable.

I can swap viber call , line calls, whatsapp, twitter, instagram, web browsing all at once and its not lagging even playing Real Racing 3.

If you open too many eventually it will lag.

Even i buy a Nokia Lumia 1020 it will be my 2nd phone. So before i consider this phone i need to see what android phone to replace my note 2.

Everything else it beats Nokia Lumia 1020 except camera.

even you buy android make sure its minimum quad core and 2GB ram if not it will lag like hell. Must run jelly bean

On a samsung note 2 they plenty of feature to play with non stop. Note 2 is about 7months old already these the features it have. The brand new Nokia Lumia 1020 at 2013 July still do not have 70% of its features and still not real time multi tasking.



I like nokia but honestly they are already leaving out di.

Nokia had that chance on maemo and meego but they choose to let it die. Android is not the best but for flexibility its the only ONE.
