aiyah that's the problem la. You don't have proper macro lens yet. It should be a non-issue or reduced problem once you have a macro lens.

A used Tamron SP90 would suffice.

Yeah.... too bad sad.gif so if I upgrade now it is not considered as a waste of gears right?

If I'm not mistaken, Flickr actually sharpen it for you in the smaller view.

So if you had sharpened your photos, it'll be sharpened further on view.

Take the maid cosplay photo that I posted. I didn't sharpen it at all but for the Facebook upload, i sharpened it a little because Facebook deteriorates your image quality.
*
Flickr did sharpen every photos in preview by a lot (probably 1 time of auto sharpen in PS), so those photos I posted looked super sharp now sweat.gif

About facebook.... the IQ just sucks purely tongue.gif sharpness drop, color drop.

I was using manual mode, no expose compensation, actually the lighting change rapidly and it is difficult to get a right exposure, part of the fireworks shoot is base on luck, another is experience.
*
I shoot some fireworks before, I remember using a large aperture, forgot about the ISO, then use bulb mode. Pretty easy to get the correct exposure imo, but need a few test shots only can get the settings.

I did too by using test shots, it is normally to get the correct exposure value, however, in some extreme cases where multiple fireworks burst at the same place and almost at the same time, you get over exposure, that was what I faced last night.
*
hmm... in such condition, i can only say shoot raw and edit in lr to save the pictures

Actually really prefer YN flashes compared to Canon's ones if you want off camera flash and don't need the TTL. The menu was so simple, just set the power and zoom you wanted and you are good to go. (easier for newbie hahah)

Borrowed my friend's 100mm L to play for a few days. The 1:1 magnification is really O.o and the lens is super sharp! But somehow I struggled to take a good shot using the lens for macros than using my 50mm reversed. Hmm... not sure why, but I found the lens to be a bit hard to control since it is quite heavy. Does the lens requires more light when focused at closest compared to the 50mm reversed? I don't have any accurate testing, but I felt like I need to more light to get a picture with the same amount of ambient using the 100mm compared to the 50mm.

Anyways, some of the shots I took today, not really satisfied with the lighting though.

now you like it lehhh, the 100mm L come with IS. that's the advantage.
*
haha so poison tongue.gif But i find it still quite hard to handhold even with the IS at high magnification (maybe still not used to it), I like the handling of my 50mm more (lighter and smaller). But if talking about IQ ( i hate the pentagon shaped bokeh on my 50mm), the 100mm is really awesome. too bad the price... sweat.gif

a compromise would be the Tamron SP 90 or Canon 100mm f2.8 macro.
*
hmm yeah those 2 would be really good too. But now I decided to get a 70-200 f4 first, since I always wanted something longer than my 18-135 (and I think I saw someone selling at a good price). Will buy the macro lenses if I didn't make the purchase of 70-200 successfully.

mingyuyu IS or non IS?

Mine's non-IS. Love the lens, rarely used. However the time I felt like I really wanted IS were when

a) I did video, no IS ah, I do focusing also can see the wobble.
b) doing panning at Super GT
*
Non IS, not sure if I should tell the price here but I think it's quite worth it (i need to COD to see if the condition is good ).

hmm yeah, but I main purpose of getting that lens would be shooting sports and portraits. i almost don't do any video at all, too lazy to edit and the file size was just too huge.

Not sure why but I felt like my LR has slowed down by a lot, it takes quite long to load raw files compared to before. Does this has something to do with the amount of files stored in the folders? My computer is running on i5, 8gb ram and 1tb hard drive. I run disk clean up quite frequently to ensure my computer is always at the top performance state. I not sure if it's the computer's fault not the LR's fault for running slower and slower, any suggestions?

New photos taken with the 100 L today, the more photos I take using it, the more I love it tongue.gif

nice, now you save up for this lens.

Sorry i don't use LR so no idea about performance.
*
hmm, ok. But abit off topic, is it normal for a computer to slows down even if I don't reinstall any new programs and run cleanup frequently? It happened to my computer recently, hopefully not kena virus or what sweat.gif

anyone had the same experience when i press the build in flash  button on 7d its begin to buzzing for few second...or it just me?

did the flash pop up after the sound? I used my friend's 60D and 7D before, they do make a brief second of buzzing sound before popping up the flash, unlike my 550D which just sounds plasticky.

That's the AF assist feature in lower end canon bodies. It's done by strobing the flash so that the AF system can perform better in low light situations.
*
nah, he's not talking about the flash light, it's the sound, not the flashing.
