How does the hostel application works? So I already send it along with my acceptance form, when exactly do I have to pay the RM600? On registration day? Up-front or deposit to MMU bank account?

Ok, when you already received the confirmation that you've been accepted into hostel,
Fill in all the forms and give it to them back,
The payment you have to deposit into MMU account,
No cash payment are accepted in any matters in MMU,
The payment last time i made on the registration day,
And the bank slip you have to write your name and ic then give to the hostel management as proof you have paid,
The hostel management office located at ground floor of male hostel block...
Usually they give 5 days after registration for this matter..

I think I wanna change my foundation. Still can? The lecturer said it's still possible. I was thought I wanna change during the orientation but other advised me to attend a few classes first. Now I convinced I really wanna change from FIT to FCM.

Anyone know what to do? I think wanna change early to not miss anything(already 2nd day now)

Consult your faculty, do it QUICK. I went through this process once it's hella long process. First, go to your faculty, they should be able to tell you what to do.

Thanks. was there any more payment required?

What's the opening hours for the gym in Cyber? The student handbook said Monday, Wed and Fri is for guys only. But today(Monday) I check the gym it's all girls! Even the flyer there said "Female session 3:30PM to 7:30PM."

wtf? Does that mean guys can only go to the gym during the morning?

So my PTPTN request is still in process, is that normal? Third week we have to pay the bills right? Or do we have to pay for that on our own first? I'm so worried :/

Yes it is normal. The time it takes for PTPTN or MARA to process students' loan varies and from what I've seen with the people around me they can take months. Just be prepared to pay first trimester's fees on your own. For final exams sake I think they will allow you to take the exams if you clear 80% of the fees. Full amount needed to view results when they're out.

Added: Oh and by the way you can pay your fees anytime before the financial barring date which will be announced in the bulletin board at a later time. After that you'll only be financially barred, which means you can't view results, attendance %, pre-register subjects, and take the final exams. But as I said, clear 80% of the fees and you will be allowed to take final exams. Pre-registration of Trimester 2 not too sure. You need to ask Finance.

Thank you, I was thinking of buying a DSLR camera for photography class next week...seems like have to pay for the bills first. : hmm.gif

Anyway how do I check how much I have to pay?(See attached)

Is it the invoice or the balance? And does that include the hostel fee?

So I'm dead. I've changed foundation on week 1 and I also applied for PTPTN. No one told me that it means that my PTPTN request is now useless and I have to wait for another one in October and apply for that one. I don't think my mother can handle the bills. My course fee is 12k and there's 3 trimesters, and I'm guessing I have to pay around 4k on my own on the third week right?

I shouldn't be so rash to change foundation so early, I thought if I do it early I wouldn't miss any class and it backfired heavily. I'm so dumb, man. I'm so dumb.

Don't be so hard on yourself. If you stick with the foundation program you have no interest in, you will waste money instead when you switch the next time. Just let your mom know, and figure things out together from then on.

Called my mom and seems like she's still busy working.

I don't know man... Maybe a bank loan or something? I don't even know if they're going to do that.

But if you take up personal loan or something you will need to consider the interest you will have to pay. In the long run will it be worth it?
*
Yeah, just thought about that.

So the payment is next week, can it be stalled for a while? Maybe a week or two? My mother said she can manage that. Just tried to call finance office just now but seems like they're already closed.

At night? Of course they're closed. laugh.gif

Can pay later. Usually financial barring date is towards the end of the trimester.

Oh my god I freaked out for nothing. I thought I heard they said to pay in the third week. Turns out they meant you can begin to pay from third week until the end of trimester...

Barred from printing exam slips, checking attendance percentage, seeing academic results, register subjects, etc. resulting from failing to settle your fees.

I see, thanks. Man you're so helpful, how come I haven't seen you in this thread before, or maybe I didn't lurk hard enough in this thread. sweat.gif

My transfer from FIT to FCM finally complete today(June intake, foundation). And I checked my attendance in the Student Information Center. Everything is red, which is expected but one of them had 12 hours of absent hours, now I'm worried if I couldn't get an 80% attendance even if I attend every class this trimester. sad.gif

From my estimation of 42 hours lecture contact hours, you will not meet the 80% mark. Best is for you to approach the lecturer and explain your situation/predicament.
*
Oh a lecturer can do that? I'll email them right now, now I'm hoping they won't just say "Ah, nothing I can do about it". hmm.gif

EDIT : And is there a way to know which group am I? I checked MMLS and it's still saying I'm an IT student.

Any seniors out there in FCM can explain how to answer Media appreciation questions for a foundation FCM student? Apparently the exam is 2 hours long, but you only have to answer 4 questions out of 8? How long is our answers supposed to be?
