Sorry if this question has been asked before.. I have been driving my forte for almost 2 yrs.. all this while, I found the car is not that comfort compare to even persona n preve..
The ride is a bit bouncy and stiff when goin thru uneven road... Been asking around in tyre section.. anyone has change their tyre from 215/45/r17 to 224/45/r17? I don't mind the higher price for the tyre as long the comfort level can be improved..
Thanks.

Sell the rim. If it is still in nice condition, I believe there will be buyers. Tires are exposed anyway. I can take as long as no scratches and if I like the design. Dam...poison again ah?

Drive any 17" with low profile tire hv to rajin rajin avoid holes. Look at Passat. That poor guy is no where luckier too. Good luck to Mazda 6 highest spec with 19" rim. Will not have luxury like camry which can go through holes and mines like their fader owns a tire shop.

I added cushion buffer on all 4 springs. Helps on small holes. Big ones can't save you. Open your eyes wide and be alert.

eiks... no better way like using 225/45/r17 tyre?

I believe that the bumpiness is because of the low profile. The less rubber height means less cushion for the car.

thts y wanna know whether anyone is using 225/45/r17 and how's the comfort level for it..
the sidewall height for 225/45/r17 is taller compare to 215/45/r17

http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-C...45R17/225-45R17

cant comment much on the conti MC5 coz I feel the comfort level is not there.. but it's much better compare to my ori tyre, IINM silverstone..

Bro, the height difference is 5mm height, 4.5mm to be exact.

My opinion is that the 225 tire will not give you the comfort you are looking for. Seriously, do consider the 16".
*
yup.. this is what I been thinkin too.. the diff is too little..
but it looks a bit weird if putting in 205/55/R16.. guess it's either comfort or looks for the rim+tyre..
never tested others car with 215/45/r17.. wonder whether it will feel the same like forte or nt..
maybe the suspension setup also play a part on the comfort level..

Change to 16" rims + 55 profile tires proves to increase driving comfort rather significantly (i did that). But somehow, it will still not feel as comfy as the suspension setup on Persona or Preve (as u mentioned) becoz Forte got sports tuned suspension to complement the stock 17" rims with low profile tires.
*
oh well, will stay with current setup for now till time to change it.. need to change tyre almost once every 1.5 yrs due to the daily travelling..

side track a bit.. whenever i release the accelerator, I'll feel that my car momentum is still moving very fast ahead..
something like the accelerator is still being pressed and the speed will decrease very slowly.. most of the time, I need to press the brake from a far..
I ask the question to the SC and they said it's normal.. something to do with drive by wire for the acceleration.. I can't really comprehend on this..
is this something normal?

what's the different for 2.0 and 1.6 with 205/55r16 tires?
*
1.6sx and 2.0sx is using 215/45r17 tyre while 1.6ex using 205/55r16..
due to the different sidewall height, the comfort level is diff..
theoretically, 205/55r16 should be more comfortable compare to 215/45r17..

My favourite rims by sequence:-

1) Lenso Conquista CQ4
2) Lenso ES ES6
3) Raiden Samurai Azura
4) Raiden Samurai SC 8
5) Raiden Samurai Bushido

http://www.lensowheel.com/Brand.aspx

The Raiden series is nice but the bright polish finish + red logo is abit lala to my liking. Still like something matt. Old unker already.

I'm currently using Raiden Project D-Spec E..
Any idea how to check whether it's ori or imitation?
I cant remember the exact price for the rim, shld be around 1.7k...
