Wondering if any of you guys ever experienced "Android is Updating" on every reboot ? icon_question.gif

Although it does nothing, but it's kinda annoying.

I'd tried a few methods based on XDA forums but I just can't seem to find the cause of it. They suspected the .odex file(s) in data/app was the culprit, but I don't have any there, only .apk files. sweat.gif

Guys, just woke up to find my phone with a black screen and blueish notification light!
The tried pulling out the battery to restart the phone, but it keeps looping back to the samsung logo.
What does that mean? icon_question.gif cry.gif

Motherboard problem. I'm having same problem and sent the phone to Samsung Service Centre and request a change of motherboard.

Ouch! shocking.gif
That sucks!
But did you try clearing dalvik cache, or wiping data at your recovery?

The phone was stuck there and if your set is an authorised set, you should ask them to replace the motherboard before warranty expires. I lost all data in phone. The service centre staff told me Samsung will replace the motherboard of S3 before warranty expires upon request as some motherboard of S3 is defective. We do not want the problem to occur just after warranty expires as the cost of replacing the motherboard is expensive.

I see, thanks for the info!
Will try to get it done once I get back! nod.gif

Aren't SDS cases supposedly fixed by updating it to 4.1.2?

I just checked XDA and I got the affected chip sweat.gif VTU00M
Gonna read more how to fix this..

edit: Ok I'm safe for now as I have 4.1.2 stock  laugh.gif
"Stock:
All 4.1.2 official releases (stock) include a Kernel, bootloader and recovery with the Update 7 "Fixes" (or newer) applied. If you have 4.1.2, officially consider yourself "Safe".
*
I also read that you need both the stock recovery and kernel installed for it to work properly, or a custom kernel and recovery built from the updated sources. Latest Perseus Kernel and PhilZ Recovery are examples

So it is possible to "patch" the problem? hmm.gif
