Just got my Nexus 7 today but I think I got a broken unit. It keeps crashing until it reboots itself. Already three times in the first half an hour of usage. All I did before that was signed in my Google account and let it charged. After 2 hour I just noticed there were a lot of error messages.

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Aug 15 2013, 09:53 PM) BTW, just now I wasn't being clear enough. The first thing it did after booting out of box was actually updating itself to 4.3. I'm not sure if it installed or not because I left it charged.I did factory reset and did not sign in my Google account. Played a while....auto rebooted again. Now I updated the Android version and made sure it installed. So far OK. But I still can't believe this device is not stable out of box. Did you guys also updated your N7? Find Google Services Framework. 3. Tap on Force Stop. 4. Select Clear Data. 5. Head back to the Nexus 7’s Settings, go to About, and check for a System Update. Try a few times if fail. |

QUOTE(blazk @ Aug 17 2013, 07:12 PM) sigh, i seem to have the random reboot problem, and nobody on the internet has find out the cause/solution for this yet. heres hoping it is a software related problem, otherwise sending back to US will be a hell lot of hassle Have you updated your Android? I had that issue out of box too. But currently already stable. |

QUOTE(me076310 @ Aug 18 2013, 07:50 PM) Yes. I had random reboot out of box. But once I updated the Android version, it never crash anymore. QUOTE(JayceOoi @ Aug 18 2013, 09:07 PM) Haven't contact Asus yet. Getting receipt now. Mine has very minor backlight bleed on top. Won't see it during normal usage. Normal for LCD screen... QUOTE(CyberKewl @ Aug 18 2013, 09:25 PM) when you say top as in top when in portrait mode? mine is at the top center, but kinda spreads across (more obvious in the top center area) My unit has very minor backlight bleed on top center too (in portrait mode). Seems like common? |

QUOTE(Cynox @ Aug 26 2013, 05:32 PM) haha.. just teasing you. Your mindset is typical potential buyers' mindset - try looking for issues, problem, or some nitpick features, etc., like some bros mentioned in the earlier pages of this thread. I noticed the higher ppi right away after the first boot from unboxing even though I already do not have the first gen N7 anymore. Once you bought it, then only you realise why you do not buy it earlier. Btw, i actually din notice there is any improvement on the screen reso compared to first gen, placing the 2 side by side. But after using it for about 2 weeks, i pick up my first gen Nexus 7 again yesterday night then only i realised the first gen screen is kinda grainy - can notice the lower res screen effect now. |

QUOTE(ThehWS @ Aug 31 2013, 02:31 AM) i got the update the other day bt sadly something went wrong and ended up in recovery (i read over in xda it has something to do with having a custom recovery). is there any way to overcome this? keep hitting the check now button over in update software in setting but no update If you mean the official OTA update you may try this:QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Jul 29 2013, 09:12 PM) This was posted by our ex TS mtxx.
