Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) bersedia untuk memulakan kerja pembinaan projek Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Laluan 2 (MRT 2) Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) pada suku kedua tahun ini.

Pengarah Komunikasi Strategik dan Hubungan Awam MRT Corp, Datuk Najmuddin Abdullah, berkata fasa pertama MRT 2 sepanjang 52.2 kilometer yang menghubungkan bahagian utara ke selatan Lembah Klang itu dijangka mula beroperasi pada suku kedua 2021, manakala keseluruhan laluan SSP akan beroperasi pada suku kedua 2022.

"Justeru, projek ini akan mengambil masa kira-kira lima tahun untuk disiapkan sepenuhnya," katanya pada taklimat media projek MRT 2 SSP di sini hari ini.

Memperincikan perancangan pembangunan MRT 2, Najmuddin berkata, MRT Corp dan MMC-Gamuda sebagai rakan pelaksana projek akan berhubung dengan semua pihak yang terbabit secara langsung dengan proses pembinaannya.

The contract is the largest work package for the construction of the SSP Line, said MRT Corp in a statement on Thursday.

The underground works package involves the design, construction and completion of tunnels, underground stations and associated structures such as portals and escape shafts for the SSP Line’s 13.5km underground alignment from the Jalan Ipoh North Escape Shaft to the Desa Waterpark South Portal.

CEO Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar said on Wednesday of the contracts, two civil works packages and two system packages cumulatively valued at between RM2.5 billion and RM3 billion will be announced in two weeks.

"Package 210 under the SSP Line involving works for a 2.6 km. stretch from Putrajaya to Cyberjaya city centre will be awarded within one to two weeks.

MRT Corp said it awarded four contracts for the construction of the new line, comprising two viaduct work packages and two system work packages.

IJM Construction Sdn Bhd, the construction arm of IJM Corp, was awarded the second largest contract, work package V203 (valued at RM1.47 billion), with works comprising the construction and completion of the 4.6km viaduct guideway and other associated works from Jinjang to Jalan Ipoh North Portal.

MRCB was awarded work package V210, worth RM648 million, for the construction and completion of the 2.6km viaduct guideway and other associated works from Persiaran APEC in Cyberjaya to Putrajaya Sentral.

The largest package, systems work package SY203 that is valued at RM1.62 billion, was awarded to the HAP Consortium comprising Apex Communications Sdn Bhd, and Korea’s Hyundai Rotem Co and Posco Engineering Co Ltd.

The fourth award was for systems work package SY201, worth RM458.02 million, for the engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of the signalling and train control system. It went to a consortium comprising Bombardier (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Global Rail Sdn Bhd.

Can't imagine the mayhem traffic it will be there.. 

MRT Corp said on Monday the first phase of the project would connect Kwasa Damansara to Kampung Batu.

The second phase, which would extend to Putrajaya Sentral from Kwasa Damansara, would likely be completed in July 2022.

The compulsory acquisition of land is the process by which the government acquires from private landowners their land which is needed for any public purpose or for a purpose beneficial to the economic development of Malaysia. It is a drastic form of governmental intervention as it results in the dispossession and eviction of landowners from their properties.

I think by that time Malaysia has 10 lines in Klang Valley, it will be like in 2050 already.
