The Second MRT should not go to Cheras side again. Instead should go to old klang road, kuchai lama, Serdang, equine Park, UPM as well as Bandar Baru Bangi. This are all high density area and no served by MRT or LRT yet

Agreed. I think the new mrt will pass through kepong since this area is highly populated & can considered as the most mature township in north KL. It didn't serve any meaning if the new line is to skip kepong route n directly fr selayang to sentul & subsequently to KL. Also, lesser income to mrt corp if they miss kepong route, which I don't think they willing to let go this goldmine. it's all about business. Just my 2cents

Current kvmrt line 2 sungai buloh - putrajayaline doesnt make sense. How can 2 mrt line start at same point?!
Some more damansara damai area can be serve by ktm dy
No point to built mrt thr while sri damansara are still less

The sensible route might be somewhere near selayang hospital to kepong sentral - tmn usahawan - jinjang then continue to kl city

Want to laugh lah when reading today's star ; one fellow commented on the "wasted " capacities in sg buluh depo.

Duh !! Line 1, use sg buluh depo and line 2 can use kajang depo lah. Got interchange at cheras Sentral wat.

End of the day, save $1.9 billion from earlier speculation. If not good then what is good ah.

Many people don't seem to understand the importance of Depot.

For Line 2, they will need a depot in the northern region, so why not use Sg Buloh one? In fact Sg Buloh depot was designed to fit trains for Line 2 as well.

Read it somewhere.. Mrt line 2 will have spur line one to sg buloh, one to selayang... For phase 1 both spur line will be built but until maluri only if im not wrong... Then onward to putrajaya is in phase 2 target completion 2030...

another brand new depot gonna to be build in selayang for future mrt Line 4, 5, 6, 7....

Normallly, the plan and development of public transport system will consider few aspects, not only focusing on the demand Now (economic growth and expansion, population density etc), but also Future (growth of population, expansion of new township, potential of extension to new towns, etc). The ideal situation will be the mixture of stations including mature township or housing area, Commercial area, new town or less-developed area, etc.

Due to the Depot status, the land value of Sg Buloh has been increased and people now moving to the area for living. New constructions are on going and expecting more population. Previously the land value of Sg Buloh is relatively low.

Same might go to Selayang, however the plan could be even an extension to Rawang later. Those towns are under Great KL. Jus my opinion.

Saw today sinchew that MRT line 2 will have 1 station in the new matrade center in dutamas, is it true? Anyone can confirm it?

The piece of info from Sinchew is old news already.. probably some have proposed those.
None of us knows where the station would be until the official news come out.
If Sinchew or printed media has inner news, sure they will put in as headline and put a "exclusive" up there.

I am actually eye on this MRT line 2 very frequent, and so far didn't notice there will be station/stop by new matrade center, until 2 days ago I saw propose station in new matrade station, so I feel surprise because the route they come out is relatively new compared with what I know previously.

changed from mrt3 to mrt2 quite some time liao.
think matrade cannot wait for mrt3 sibeh too long and
may screw up the whole development.

but after the jib kor report. see still ada at mrt2 line route boh... i think high chansi will still remain there.
