This proof that public transport failed in our country

Change of human behaviour need time de..

Takkan you expect everyone to loose theor cars and start taking train overnight.

Also train services need coverage and connectivity. Malaysia failed in that part.

They should continue MRT3 circleline now, delay no more since they can get 20-30% cost reduction for MRT2 tunnelling works, mean MRT 3 they can cut the cost 20-30% as well

If really want more people to take the MRT or other forms of public transportation, that last-mile connectivity needs to seriously be improved.

well said, but mao never treated his people as "human"  puke.gif

Yes, that’s why mao don’t choose the western way to conquer other countries and make other neighbor countries become slave. As a nation that can beat down American twice on north South Korean War and viet kong war. Easily beat kao the Indian troops invasion back to India. If mao want to do that, actually can very easily do that. But at the end he choice not to do that, he chose to restructure his own country and his whole nation and sacrificed many their own people. Indeed a paintful path. Of coz a lot wrong things done to their own people.

Mao has another words. “Everyone do their best within themselves, don’t bother or disturb other.” He want his own nation suffer the most instead of other. Only this way the nation will rise up again.

To know more about China, you need to know ”易经” This is the root and foundation to build the China nation from the scratch and very beginning. Totally different from western value and thought.

4 stations to have only two exits ("no more exit C" so I'm assuming only A and B for now):

Titiwangsa
HKL
Kg Baru North
Ampang Park

Two stations will have the public concourse removed ("let future TOD build themselves")

Titiwangsa, no more bus terminal.

HKL, no foundation work for future development (not sure if TOD or hospital expansion)

Bandar Malaysia (not sure which N or S), no foundation work for future TOD

All stations:
No artwork, only wall cladding.
Thinner tempered glass.
No more granite, only normal tiles.
Mesh ceilings.

4 stations to be shelved (shell and core only; not functional)**
BM N
BM S
Conlay**
Sentul West**

**All the above is based on MMC-Gamuda's initial offer of RM2.3 bil cost reduction and shelving 4 stations, which was not accepted by MOF and following which, MOF announced on 7 Oct 2018 to cancel their underground contract.

The final offer by MMC-Gamuda, accepted by MOF, has a cost reduction of RM3.6 bil but only involves shelving BM N and BM S. Conlay and Sentul West will be built as planned but with the cost reduction measures applied to all other stations.

So this is not what was finally accepted by MOF, as the Conlay and Sentul West will be built, but there are probably other reductions as well although the further reduction (RM2.3b to RM3.6b) is probably mostly their profit.

Hmm...the article state: is on track for full completion by July 2021. Or the reporters misquoted? July 2021 is for elevated stations only.
Full operation is another year July 2022.
Can refer to the previous-previous related news about MRT2 completion timeline.

I don't mind a spartan-looking station, but not at the expense of gutting a couple of stations just for the sake of 'cost-reduction'.

Bandar Malaysia North and South stations, I can understand, as Bandar Malaysia's development is stalled for the time being until further notice, but Conlay and Sentul West? So far a quick search did not mention the latter 2 stations being cancelled from official media sources and the MRT website itself. Furthermore, even wikipedia only listed down the former two stations as cancelled. hmm.gif

I remember also reading that the cost reduction was done by cutting some stations exits. If that's true that's just ridiculous.

Got long story behind.
After the new government took over, everything also must cut. Need to show rakyat new malaysia mean business.
Started with LRT3. Omitting out few stations, cut here cut there and timeline also increased to 2024 now.

Next is MRT2. Elevated station part was approved first after cutting down the cost.
But Undergound station faced problem.
MMC-Gamuda proposed to cut those 4 stations away.
Cabinet disagree and terminate the underground contract.
Workers protest.
Re-negotiate and uturn made.
MMC-Gamuda to continue the underground contract with only 2 stations shelf.
End of story.

Seems to confirm what I've been reading on the MalayMail (including LGE being an a-hole at times). Thanks for the clarification and hopefully this will be the final nail in the coffin for rumours of 4 stations being gutted. thumbsup.gif

Either that fella at that skyscrapercity forum is intentionally misleading everyone on that forum or he's just uninformed about the latest outcome.
