guys, it's just pre season. give the team a break. thailand all stars is not some 'cap ayam' team. they can even beat our harimau malaya easily. please, just flash back a few seasons back, utd were almost embarassed by our harimau malaya team.
bang, semi-pro team from australia also can do that
the moon was saying, he can't brain the comparison between Everton and Man Utd, so this guy quoted an example, rooney from our academy? the answer is, Rooney from everton academy, so how to compare him with a Man Utd? should blame SAF, why sign an everton player in the first place??? and to those glory hunters, please do not judge them based on just one PRE-SEASON game after a long break with just a week's training! this is not even a competitive match also!
the first competitive match is only our first community shield game vs Wigan!
you judge whether a book is good by reading only the first page?
are you sure? gry was replying to moon's post which mentions nothing about comparing mu and eve. dude replied to moon's post about what went wrong in last night's match and how mu will fare in the coming season if they're judged by last night's performance. where does rooney and mu/eve academy come into play in that particular post?
Doesn't matter if we have the money or not. What matters is whether or not we're attractive enough for these "stellar" players. Money-wise, even Arsenal declared that Wenger has like what, 70m transfer fund? Will players like Messi or Ronaldo want to join them just because Arsenal can afford them?
Who wouldn't jump a chance to play for United? We are one of the most popular brand in the world, playing for United will boost their popularity even more, in terms of commercial and a great history backing them, I don't see why would any player refuse to join United should they come hunting for them?
United can offer Bale Champions League football and chances of him winning a trophy will be higher compared to Real Madrid and the plus point of joining United is because we are a British club and Bale is a Welsh, Giggs is a good example. Arsenal is a different story, trophy-less for 8 seasons in a row (not bashing, it is real facts), a real example of RVP jumping ship and won a title within his very first season?
Even if DM is not attractive to major stars, the history of Manchester United tells a story. As they say, no personnel is bigger than Manchester United.
Usually when we're competing in the transfer market, it is against the likes of Madrid, Bayern, Barcelona. Those clubs are rich with history, tradition, and have butt loads of trophies in their cabinet as well. As of recently, we're lacking the oomph factor compared to these clubs. Oomph factor nowadays, IMHO, depends a lot on performances in European club tournament and also the number of star players in a side.
