Tried htc vive today at my friend house, it is not as i expected.
That graphic in vr kinda bad ( looks like PlayStation one generation graphic) compare to what we see in monitor.
I know it wont as good as what we see in monitor but didnt expect so much different. Not sure whether the gpu not strong enough or not,  forgot to ask. It is about the same quality when i try vr using trinusvr ,my phone and google cardboard. Any sifu can clarify? IT idiot here.

Then your friend has not invested in the right content or his GPU processing power is bare minimum. GTX960/970?

Eagle Flight. The Edge of Nowhere. Raw Data. The Climb. Gun Valkyrie. Everest VR. Adr1ft. Project Cars VR. Elite Dangerous VR. Nvidia's VR Funhouse. Chronos. Damaged Core. Farlands. Hell, even the Oculus Dreamdeck has content far beyond what GearVR or PSVR can dream of doing.

Same with you. Tested Brookhaven Experiment. The graphic was quite blurry and noticeable blink.gif . Then I asked the PC spec, turned out it was GTX 960 SLI. I've never heard of any VR games that utilise SLI, so I assume the game only use one GTX 960 which is lower than GTX 970, the minimum, and the game only run at supersampling 1. Maybe your friend's GPU is lower than the minimum?

No SLI support so far on VR games or experience except one: Nvidia VR Funhouse.

RX 480 should be comparable/slightly lower to GTX 1060 i think, which is the new minimum requirement for the Vive. Lol then I dunno why ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Maybe he needs better GPU.

What games?

Vive and Rift is a melting port of games of varying quality. Blocky indie game quality like Omega Agent or quality big budget games like Eagle Flight or Edge of Nowhere.

Some high profile games are coming up soon. DoomVR, FallOut4VR to say a few and Eve Valkyrie is coming this week or 2. So hold the horse.
Have you try Holo Impact Prologue yet? If you like old classic shoot-em-up game you should try this out. Crazy intense arcade action. It played likes one of the demo game Xortic 26XX in The Lab demo.
Also, I really enjoy the mindless shooting in Serious Sam VR. Lucky's Tale is also very fun game to play. 3D platform game with different perspective. Love the cute graphics as well. Will test out Edge of Nowhere and Chronos later.

I enjoy the device a lot.
Try enabling super sampling, this can really make the game looks sharper and clearer.

Try enabling super sampling and adjusting the IPD can also help on clarity.

Looks like Vive will not be released in Malaysia anytime soon: https://www.lowyat.net/2016/119125/exclusiv...ysia-this-year/

After this news I think I'll get CV1 instead, the touch controller looks more ergonomic and I can get them separately if cost is a concern.

This is the saddest news. I've bought my gaming rig just for the Vive after knowing that they going to be released here in October sad.gif

well we have this..
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4114457&hl=

but frankly speaking please exercise caution coz all i can see is new account just created with no background transaction to refer to..

on the other hand, was skeptical before when htc announce that vive will be available in malaysia on october 2016.. and it turn out to be true.. quite sad to see this type of shit especially when the announcement was made by regional manager but it failed to materialized, i guess for public or for me at least there goes the dude credibility down the drain announcing something that big but the team failed to deliver it..

You guys have to try out this killer app from google, google earth VR. It is a must have app. for every VR fans. You can actually see all the details while in city. Visited Japan yesterday night. Wow, all the details, high rise towers, streets, building are there. Super cool.
Also, Eve Valkyrie has already been released yesterday night as well. Comes bundle with a free copy of Gunjack which I already have and too late to refund, damn.

Yeah, that was my original plan when HTC VIVE won't be arriving at Malaysia (as I expected). But 700 USD is still too much lol, especially when RM value dropped again recently.

Our currency perform so poorly, we are out of choice.

By the way, just tried out Doom BFG edition in VR using BRDOOMVR1.1.0. yesterday. The game plays out fantastically. Its way better than most of all the current title in my Steam Library. You all just have to try it yourself if you have Vive.
