MSC ANIMATION PITCH 2006 (Animation Pitching Competition)

FIVE winners will be awarded a RM50,000 grant each, to support their trailer or pilot episode. The competition will be opened from 26 April 2006 until 14 June 2006.

Information of the contest a bit blur to me. Anyone can clarify it? What we need to do exactly?

Mission:
In this competition, companies or individuals will have to pitch their ideas or pre-production of their animated characters, the story and eventual background information of the show.

Goal:
Winners will be awarded a RM50,000 grant each, to support their trailer or pilot episode. (funded project)

In other words, you and your team will have to come up with a proposal to pitch your idea. In your proposal, you must have these..

2. REQUIREMENTS:

i. Main character design and concept
ii. Synopsis
iii. Unique selling points
iv. Implementation team
v. Optional materials (eg: storyboard, additional artworks or video) is welcomed.

And not only that, the Format of the Proposal..

i. Language: English, or if not in English shall include an English translation as attachment
ii. Table of Contents
iii. Cover Letter
iv. Management / Executive Summary
v. Services Specification Section (Ref:3)
vi. Company / Personal Profile

And to make things even more formal..

4. A DECLARATION CERTIFYING THAT THE PROJECT PRESENTED:

i. Has not been otherwise grant aided
ii. Has not been pre-purchased by any TV Channel
iii. Is not part of a school syllabus

This is a big animation awareness drive the MDeC is hosting to promote more quality animation works and stories.

Well, I understand the requirement but the big picture of it i'm still blur. what is they selling?

urm.. if you're asking what do they offer you..

..i just mentioned that the RM50,000 is used as FUNDING for your work on the pilot episode or trailer.

meaning you're getting paid that amount to bring you idea to life..
