you can use nandroid backup from CWM recovery mode

the P770 seem smooth. but since i'm not so familiar with other android phone, still ot many to explore on this phone .

yes to enter recovery mode is the same for cwm and twrp, that combination of button. the cwm recovery used touch screen, so just hit the back icon

Better in external, cus the jelly bean os will wipe internal sdcard if you force to reset the phone when you facing some problem later.

it will not damage your phone or your battery . just the phone will took longer to fully charge, most usb output are 450-500mah, your s3m charger is 700mah, s3 1000mah

press power button + home button

if you gonna install that custom roms, make sure the roms is not wipe data, if it does, copy your files and do nandroid backup to external sdcard(micro sdcard)

the last time i flash the custom roms it wipe all my files on internal sdcard
