Hey all, seeking owner's opinion:

Planning on buying the ZR. I know there is z1 compact now but it doesn't have removable battery. (I NEED removable because my experience with phones has proved that removable battery is necessary..like when nothing responds)

My primary concern is battery life. I need something that can last 24 - 30+ hours with light/moderate usage (1hr calls/1hr surfing/about 3hr screen on time/12hrs wifi, 12hrs data). Anyone able to achieve GSMArena's battery times? I also don't mind sticking with 4.2.2. for good batt life.

Any opinions? Thanks in advance smile.gif

Mine current usage the battery can last about 18 hrs only with 4 hrs screen on. Mostly on wifi and mobile data. With new update battery life not much difference with 4.2.only the internal storage very little. The rest Ok.

18hrs sounds alright. What do you think about the GSMArena's test? Thanks for sharing this

mine can easily last more than 15 hour before reaching 30-35%, minimal usage with constant connectivity to Wifi. Like any other phones out there, connecting to data drains your battery fast. Thats why i opt for wifi

Thanks for sharing your experience. Ideally i'd like to use wifi but realistically i do find myself using data to stay connected when I'm on the go (out of office/home) so I'd take data into account.

Do you all find having removable battery useful at times?

I use powerbank so OK lo... mine battery last around 8 hrs? Mostly will recharge in the evening... tomorrow I snap my screen shot for u...
Those more than 12 hrs is light to moderate usage only, I think... cos I seldom had this phone got over 10 hrs without recharge on work day...

Thanks for the screenshot! smile.gif You must be quite a heavy user?

i'm using YES wifi dongle, thats why can keep connected everywhere. But i do find strange battery draining during standby mode, in about 7 hours it will drop 5-8 % (overnight after charging, i'll turn off the charger once the battery reach 100%)  hmm.gif

most places i've read mention the same thing about battery drain during standby. tried checking which app is the cluprit? if you rooted, maybe you could use wakelock detector and then prevent this with something like greenify?

nice..your usage pattern is closest to mine actually. a good estimate for me. i feel the same way about powerbanks too.

Mine can last 16 hrs with balance of 20% (moderate usage) after the latest update. Turn on data all the time with stamina mode on. Never thinking of using power bank.
Luckily mine arrived after 2 weeks.

wow, this is the best timing so far. with data on all the time somemore. did you do any extra tweaks (i.e. root, greenify, etc..)??
