is there any goodness of rooting? I never have experience of rooting handphones, but my frens told me that internal system will be smaller, so u can get bigger space for your internal storage..is it true?

Also looking for dock charger, but found the price very expensive..if rm50-60 sumthing can afford la, but rm150 for a charger, make me thinking twice..too lazy to open the flap for charging..huhu

With root, you can install DroidSail Super App2SD where you can really move apps to to sd. Even apps like facebook.

Then you can use Greenify to increase battery life.

Lastly, the best reasons, you can install AdAway to remove all adds in android.

An iphone is not an phone without jailbreaking. So is an android device without rooting

yup, rooted 4.1.2 by using Doomlord method in XDA. however after flashing 4.2.2 through flashtool, the root gone, and re-root again by using Rooting 10.3.1.A.0.244 Firmware method  smile.gif

If i wait to update to 4.2.2 via OTA, can I still root? Or do I need to root 4.1.2 first, then update to 4.2.2, then reroot again?

any owner reviews regarding the battery life?occasionally web browsing, checking FB and twitter while standby all the time.

as i'm referring to GSMarena battery test, they show that XZR have the most outstanding life for web browsing. is it true with real life usage?

The battery life is damn good if you enable stamina mode. I on my WiFi everyday for about 10min 3x/4x and my battery can last 3 days + on one charge before I will charge it again if I hit ~ 10%. I am not on any data. Calls 10-20 mins/day. Sms about 10-20x. That is my usage.

Just make sure you don't remove the backcover when is wet. Say only after3-5 days only remove to make sure water really dry.

By the way, if I were you I would wait for z1 mini (next January) provided you are not in a hurry to get a new phone.
Price will be most likely the currect price (zr price) with same specs as z1 minus the size, the screen density (most likely 720p instead 1080p).

3. Should I hold out for the ZR's successor, since it is already Jan and May is not far off.

Yes. Xperia Z1 compact have just recently been announced. It should be available in March. It is same specs as Z1.

My friend told me my ZR camera better than SG4. He took both photos and then compare by zooming in, it is found that ZR photo better. But best is take a ZR and SG4 and compare side by side.

To root, I need to downgrade to 4.1.2 (factory reset), then use DooMLoRD's tool?
After that can update OTA to 4.4.2 while still keeping root?

Can I use the program VROOT to root my xperia ZR? Or just use above method?

Currently running on stock 4.3 formware 10.4.1.B.0.101 with locked bootloader.

ok, back to your battery drain issue

If your ZR is rooted, i highly recommend you to install this app called App Ops, it's an permission managing app. Disable the keep awake option under the Google Play Service.
