QUOTE(briantwj @ May 19 2013, 11:24 PM) Look at this guys, Xperia V actually has the best display amongst all xperia line up. Compared to other Xperia phones, Xperia V's colour looks the most natural, more vibrant and sharper among all the other Xperia. Wonder if Xperia ZR can beat dat..... |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ May 20 2013, 10:21 AM) .253 improve the viewing angle. Actually I already know Sony can tune this as during .434 ROM, I already notice viewing angle is much better when viewing photo/video at Album. The color punch up in BE2 is better the viewing. Firmware improve viewing angle? Now Sony fixed at .253, which eventually getting better view a lot as it not only vibrant it, it also with correct white balance, better contrast level as well. Wow, first time I'm hearing that |

QUOTE(ericmaxman @ May 20 2013, 10:32 AM) If you not believe this, you can go XDA forum, everyone talk about it. Or go find two units of Xperia Z, one with .434 firmware, another with .253 firmware, and you will seen the different. v.253 is latest firmware instead of .434, all this confusing is due to it is actually 10.1.A.1.434 v/s 10.1.1.A.1.253 I believe Z viewing angle is same standard as V just Sony did it wrongly in white balance tune, contrast adjust and color vividness control when launching. Thumbs up to Sony for releasing firmwares to fix the display.
I'm really into Sony's display compared to Samsung's display. I find Samsung's amoled display shows colours that are too saturated. With this ZR coming up, I'm eager to switch to Sony. Just not sure which Xperia shud i get. |

So I think if Sony Dutch sells around RM1800, it could be cheaper here, e.g. RM1699based on this site, xperia zr expected to launched at dutch with RRP €479..if we using google currency and change to RM, its close to RM1800++..well, its RRP, i expect less than that when arrive at here.. |

QUOTE(kakikubesi @ May 22 2013, 10:28 PM) You are actually comparing apple to orange. I was talking about RRP, although I didn't state it in my last post, I thought it is quite understood since I was replying to a post about RRP. If you want to compare apple to apple, you should be comparing shop price to shop price, not RRP to shop price. Now since you're comparing RRP to a shop price, I'm not sure how much you understand about RRP vs shop price. The RRP for Z is RM2199, shop price is RM1899 The RRP for ZL is RM1899, shop price is RM1599 So if you want to compare Z vs ZL price, should it be RM2199(RRP price) vs RM1599 (shop price), or should you be comparing RM1899 (shop price) vs RM1599 (shop price) ? By the way, just a little bit extra information. If you go to a random real physical shop (not the one you know is selling online at Lowyat Forum), I think chances are you will still get RM1899 for ZL. |

Xperia ZR not heading to Australia or Singapore
The limited availability of the Xperia ZR (C550X) won’t only be seen in Europe, but will also extend to South East Asia and Australia. From our understanding, there is currently no plans to launch the Xperia ZR in Singapore or Australia. However, a number of South East Asian countries will be getting the device including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. We expect pricing to be similar to the €479 price point in the Netherlands. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Am I the only one who thinks Sony is releasing too many phones in too short a time? Almost like Samsung already, spamming different versions of the same thing left and right. But what do I know, I don't run a company...
I love the Xperia designs, but wonder why the Sony screens are nowhere near as good as HTC's, even with their so-called Bravia Engine, Opticontrast or whatever. Hope this ZR screen is really an improvement Regardless, I still think the ZL, together with Butterfly, is the sexiest phone available today. |
