Yup. I am not a fan of a powerbank connected to my phone via a USB cable. Prefer to have a spare battery standing by. Battery runs out, just swap a new battery in and voila, 100% battery level all over again.  icon_idea.gif

That's why I bought it. I hope ZR2 has removable batteries too.

there is a zr2?

.. Dang was hoping it was true..

Btw even if there was to be an upgrade for zr, i don't think they will go with removable batteries though.. Seem set for all manufacturers to push for non removable.
Only ones steady enough to offer is samsung since they are huge and can make/do whatever they want.

I hope there will be a ZR2 since everything from Sony is 2s and 3s now

Went to Sony Centre last night. They say it's covered but will take a few weeks. Recommend to take to a place at Imbi. They can do it immediately also for free.

i dont think sony will release a true succesor since z3 compact is there to fill the midrange void.
*
Yeah Z3 compact is in the same range of ZR if it was the successor.

Well lets hope for the best and this phone still serve more than i need. Done are the days of chasing new models, i guess people do grow old  cool2.gif
*
Yeah man. There is always hope. thumbup.gif . So far there is no concrete reason for me to change actually. My Xperia Ray lasted almost 3 years and I still use it as my 2nd phone, and my ZR is barely a year old. And one of the reasons for loving the ZR is because there are still rolling out updates for it.

Been trying to update thru OTA since last night but failed. I thought maybe it was the data connection. Trying on wifi at the office also failed. Gonna try with PC later.

FYI, Kit-Kat OS has blocked it for moving apps to SD

well, if u wanna move to SD, Root
PC, just use PC companion

Need to borrow data cable from colleague, I rarely carry one these days. Also need to clean up my PC. The update needs at least 5gb of free space on your PC. I only have 521mb left. shakehead.gif

Looking at your snapshot the Google play service still indicate higher percentage.  Same like 4.4.2.  too bad.
*
Mine doesn't even show Google Play services. And from 12 noon, battery has gone down 12% till now with regular usage. Haven't tried playing games though. It's also a bit smoother now.

I went to a farm where data connection sucks last time after update to 4.4.2 and by 6 pm my battery was 25%.
Yesterday I went again with 4.4.4, at 6 pm my battery was still 63%. So significant improvement. Btw my Google Play services not running.

If you turn off data it will not run... I've been doing that, manages to last me the whole day
*
Data was on. The test was that the battery lasts longer with 4.4.4 while trying to find data signal.

According to source, Sony Xperia Z series is gonna release Android 5.0 update at next month, and it's start with Z3 first, so ZR would probably release at March/April

Hopefully sooner. Seems like it's been awhile since .

Hi, I got my replacement unit back in few months ago. They changed the phone but not the back cover of my ZR. Today I bring my phone to bath and ended up water entered the screen as the picture shows. [attachmentid=4324409]
*Brighter part is the affected area.

So now the questions arises,

1)1 of the water indicator turns pink and is it possible to claim the warranty?

2)I left my warranty card in Sabah and is it possible to claim it or i have to take my warranty card and claim at Sabah?(I'm now in KL for sem break)

3)Any other alternative way to fix it without sending to repair? (For example put it closed tight in a container which contains dehydrating agent)

4) Is the effect permanent ?

So damn frustrating when it happened and found out i left my warranty card in Sabah.  mad.gif  mad.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif

Not sure about the other questions but you can try to dry it up as u mentioned in no. 3. They say putting in container with rice will absorb the moisture. Just give it a try.

This thread has been neglected. Anyone updated to 5.0.2 yet? I updated last Friday. So far so good but some features missing and the sound is also less louder.
