sooner or later either everyone will suffer a slow death because of property or a crisis bubble will burst.

QUOTE(zerol410 @ Jul 20 2013, 10:43 AM) I thought so too... but I've read it is not anymore. Maybe 5 years before... but not now. Wilmar is part of Robert Kuok's group of companies, serious heavy weight.Company Mkt Cap* Short&Long Landbank Term Debt# (hectares) ($ mln) ($ mln) 1 Wilmar (WLIL.SI) 20,814.2 4,929.9 500,000 2 Sime Darby (SIME.KL) 11,994.8 1,638.0 524,626 3 IOI Corp (IOIB.KL) 8,323.2 1,639.0 251,000 4 KL Kepong (KLKK.KL) 3,617.6 580.0 360,000 5 Golden Agri (GAGR.SI) 3,302.8 557.0 637,361 6 Astra Agro (AALI.JK) 2,906.4 -nil- 258,900 7 Indofood (IFAR.SI) 1,362.6 650.1 541,224 8 Asiatic Dev (ASIA.KL) 1,206.8 7.9 164,000 9 London Sumatra (LSIP.JK) 864.3 73.4 169,909 10 Boustead (BOUS.KL) 804.0 1,035.0 100,000 11 United (UTPS.KL) 765.1 -nil- 80,874 12 Kulim Bhd (KULM.KL) 576.0 459.1 124,660 13 IJM Plantations (IJMP.KL) 502.6 10.0 70,000 14 Sampoerna Agro (SGRO.JK) 334.8 21.7 169,000 15 Bakrie Sumatera (UNSP.JK) 303.6 156.4 80,000 This was in 2009. Wilmar, which is Singapore's, concentrates on Indonesia vast land (even in Malaysia too) for palm oil cultivation. But I might be wrong... "As of 2009, Indonesia was the largest producer of palm oil, surpassing Malaysia in 2006, producing more than 20.9 million tonnes." - Scientific American Board of Editors (December 2012), "The Other Oil Problem", Scientific American 307 (6): 10, "...such as Indonesia, the world's largest producer of palm oil." |

QUOTE(meteoraniac @ Aug 23 2013, 09:41 AM) those buying this property at 30 plus years old will be able to see the completion of all phases at 60 years old... just in time to celebrate with their kids and grandkids.. same like how my uncles who was with MAS in its infancy bought a very cheap house at an ulu area called subang jaya like 30 years ago in SS15.he bought it for about RM35k which was quite a sum back then for a backwater development but no choice since near to the airport. he sold it for close to RM450k few years back and bought a G&G at Kota Kemuning. he said he saw SJ grew from a few row of houses and shops into a MPSJ we know today. i think we'll see elmina the same way. the cutting edge angular european inspired white walled flat roof designs we're drooling for today might look like ancient pyramids when the 60th phase rolls out. exciting times |

QUOTE(zerol410 @ Aug 23 2013, 10:51 AM) elmina name is from the elmina kelapa sawit farm of the same name in that area?QUOTE(Chris Chew @ Aug 23 2013, 11:09 AM) Subang Jaya or SS15 back then was really like a forest and super ulu place. yeah, when he sold it because the house getting old and with grand kids left right and center a bigger place had to be bought. It took time to established and since 15 years ago, the accessibility is better with population slowly coming in, and booming after the colleges are in where the commercials kicked off easily. If your uncle didn't sold the SS15 at RM 450k few years back, I think it can be sold at least RM 800k today. The house too old and the prices very crazy, anyhow, SS15 is very good location in the whole Subang Jaya included USJ. |
