Hi guys, received this letter a day ago and I am not entirely sure about it,

Things I noticed,

- dated more than a month ago
- company owner's name was wrong

Anyone aware of letters like these please do shed some light thanks!

You guys mentioned about the mispelled owner's name and company name. I think this should not be taken lightly.
After all, mispelled company name alone doesn't justify for not adhering to the letter. IMHO.

The letter has KPDNKK letterhead in it. If this is a scam, the scammer (which I assume is the person behind opssemak.my) has a big brass ball forging an official government ministry's letterhead, which is a criminal offence. To check whether this letter is genuine or not, call 1800886800 and ask whether the letter with the reference number included in the letter is valid or not.

Well, I did called them up but I couldn't tell if it's a scam or not. It's an automated answering machine at first whereby you press 1 for Malaysia and then a lady answer the phone and ask you to submit the Lampiran A and change your software to genuine license.

seems like those letter sent by gov maybe they suspect the company using pirated microsoft office and operating systems.

better use original version as microsoft will sent people to check your company whether using pirated or original software.

penalty up to rm 20000 AFAIK

That website looks more like a Worldpress template for me, doesn't look that professional.
Anyway, do contact Y.BHG. DATO’ HAJI ISKANDAR HALIM via his email address regarding the letter:

iskandar_halim@kpdnkk.gov.my

which i get from here:

http://www.kpdnkk.gov.my/kpdnkk/direktori-...NCE_TmI3_lvl4=0

Another side note:
The KPDNKK and BSA icon in opssemak is non-clickable. hmm.gif

Besides the Lampiran A, they want us to send the COA serial number in excel format
COA serial number is not  the product key right?
What else to attach together?

this thing is completely legit.

this is a "campaign" started on october last year that is supposed to run for a month, in which the gov appointed a company (go figure out which and who own it) with objective to ensure companies using genuine software and to stop piracy. you are not required to respond to it.

i think this ringle has nothing to do with the campaign. most probably the owner is a friend to the company that run the campaign and just let him park his opssemak.my in his website.

Same here, they emailed it through company streamyx email. The spokesperson on the phone was not very government like ethic, I presume an agent acting on behalf. Nonetheless, I did not proceed to the audit because it's not like ISO certification, and it feels like telling your boss you're not doing your job well.

PS: I did ask wheres the head office, they replied in KL and no office in Sabah. Then why bother??? I'm based in Sabah,
