Whao! I'm surprised you like it instantly. It wasn't instant love for me and now it's one of my favorites. Many shy away from DH due to the prominent iris root note. I actually prefer DH better than DHI for that reason. I'm a BIG fan of powdery scents because to me, they are classy, elegant and metrosexual (BTW, I'm a straight married guy who pumps iron). If you like DH you may like Midnight in Paris by VC&A, which is another one of my favorites.
Dior is my favorite designer (and I'm not even touching on their private collection yet) because they are the game changer in the designer game with their modern releases. i.e. DH, DHI, Fahrenheit Absolute and Eau Sauvage Parfum. Like you, it changed my view on fragrances and started it all for me. Having said that, don't get me wrong about Chanel. Their modern releases are king of fresh scents in the designer game IMO. I like and wear BdC, AHEB and plan to get AHS after my BdC runs out.
When I review a scent (to see if it's full bottle worthy) I only look at (in order of priority), purpose, smell, quality, price and perfumer. I don't really look at the brand. What matters is the juice inside, purpose it's trying to achieve and of course, the price.
When I am just join this forum and you recommended me to try MiP AND I BLIND BOUGHT THE EDP.
MiP is one of my favourite scent. I admit that the opening is a bit too harsh for my nose at the beginning. It took me some time to adapt the rubber, tea vibe? I cannot get the citrus note that others claimed. After using for months, I normally apply it on night as I think it is very sexy, smoky and complex scent as well. I enjoy how the scent change over time and it slowly turn into soft and powdery vanilla after rubber opening note. The drydown of MiP is just so smooth and creamy scent. Benzoin? Tonka bean? I dont know what ingredient that lead to this scent but the basenote of MiP is divine. The bottle of MiP is just top notch and made it even more worth to collect.
I am really impressed with its performance.

MiP belong to balsamic accord ? Based on fragrantica, most of the fragrances that I love belong to powdery, woody and balsamic scent.
I already tried all Chanel men fragrances such as BDC, AHS line, Egoiste, Platinum Egoiste as well as Antaeus. AHS line I would said I enjoy all of them but they dont have the magic to tempt me into buying them. For Chanel, I am actually interested to get Antaeus and Egoiste. Antaeus to me have an unique scent which I seldom find in other brand. It is very dark and very mysterious. This is the impression that Antaeus give me. My brother and sister really dislike Antaeus LOL
