well ya.. but when u do side by side comparison, u can notice the diff d... of coz the difference will not be so obvious for normal ppl, but fumeheads can notice it... I got MI n unforgivable.. yea it is same vibe but overall experience, cant fight lol
*
coz every creed bottle has been indoctrinated with fake history, causing the perfume molecules to resonate deeper and faster, giving the perfumes a very distinctive experience.

just joking.

creeds and their fake history for their house/perfumes is quite well known. another company who tried to use the same approach but failed is rance.

yeah coz of the naming and history thats why creeds fragrance seems to smell better.

now we can make our own creed fragrances as well!

I'm naming mine Sublime Money Water that was created for Ponce de leon in 1811

has notes of money in it as well as water from glaciers. smells so fresh!

*
it's a game called name your own creeds fragrance and match it up to an imaginary historical figure (which is what creeds does)

Manage to get TM - Pure Leather

similar with A*Men, with hint of synthetic leather

more like leather wallet than leather jacket

very hard to smell the leather in this fragrance
*
its actually the same smell. the difference is only in intensity.

Ah, but what they said in in vid reviews

TM take the original  A*men and dump with bunch of leather

i dont understand how guys at fragnatica manage to point major notes leather is the  in this

caramel is overpowering in the start
*
leather note is usually birch tar. but depends on how much is used and what are the other things in the scent, it may smell differently.

Ooo the air sejuk I compare with is surely dunno how many time reformulated lolz... Omg this GIT last! I spray on the back of my hand around 9pm, now I smell my hand I still can get the very faint smell...

The batch code variance in Aventus is so terrible? Well let just keep the samples and smell them as and when I feel so, and the money can be use to try other niche house such as Floris, Penhaligon's, Lubin
*
just because its niche dosent automatically mean they're good. you have yet to explore the designers too.

QUOTE(kelthuzad @ Oct 11 2013, 03:55 AM)
i suddenly recall, actually you have to know which generation of cool water you comparing to,because even cool water has the vintage and current version.when i bought a new cool water,it smells different to the one i had 10 years ago,the current one is so weak and not crisp at all that i did doubt if my current cool water is a fake, even the cap looks different a bit, lettering on the box also different, but then when i search around,i found out that there's 2 version of it. i was in a way lucky to have own a vintage cool water before, and sad that i simply sprayed my vintage cool water thinking that its cheap and easily replaceable, not knowing that the current version is miles apart.so if you were to compare vintage cool water and GIT,i think they are quite on par, cool water might actually beat GIT by one millimeter though.GIT can definitely beat the current cool water by far.i miss my old cool water cry.gif  seems like all oldies are the best

and for the earlier question you asked me if aventus is worth splashing the cash....i would say its a risk, because with aventus, there's the batch code thing, you might like the scent for the aventus samples you got from me,but do remember they are samples, samples are always filled with the good quality ones, and i have experimented with many aventus samples, they all smell the same and the same longevity, not like some members in basenotes said watered down or anything, its still the strong and long lasting one in all the vials i tested.so if one day you decided to take that leap of faith,do prepare for the worst bro...i have a friend bought it in US and his version is the watered down version, remember how the sample smelled kinda fiery burning pineapple??his bottle lack that fire
*
some reforms are for the better. the current habit rouge smells more fresh as it has aldehydes compared to the older versions.

mostly are not
*
it depends on a case by case basis. some scents do indeed have sucky reformulated versions but dosent mean every single scent that is reformulated is bad. not good to generalize and go into a vintage hunting frenzy. Also consider the effects of ageing and maceration which continues even after the perfume has been bottled.

if you read properly, the word is"mostly",not every single ones, and i am referring to scents i had and smelled before,i have only smelled the old habit rogue,so i dont know hows the new one is like, and am never on a hunting frenzy for old reformulation that are hyped up.and a lot of reformulations happened due to ifra as well, many scents with castoreum, hyrax, civet are no longer allowed, unless synthetically, which will never be the same.many chanel's ladies classic are examples.i cant really see whats the good of reformulation, whats the good part??
*
isnt your post hyping up on vintages? that is why i was posting a reminder on that. but its okay.

but anyway, you won a bottle of eau de internets, you win!

lol the irony of a fail comeback.if thats a hype, then the way i hyped some frags since version1 of this perfume thread would be the goddest of all hype.thanks for the bottle though
*
not really. it wasnt a comeback. I dont have that sort of time to shoot ppl down here. It's lyn. But what i am saying is that your post may cause misunderstandings. Any newbie who buys a new bottle would feel bad after reading your post as you make them feel that they bought an inferior product. Think about that. It's not something that anyone who just bought a bottle of cool water wants to read.

I have been posting in basenotes for years so i do know what goes where. there are many in there who are vintage fans and are totally against reformulation but at least they are kind to people who cannot afford the expensive vintage versions from ebay. I dont like reformulations myself but i dont go all out and say that every reformulation is bad. I own a vintage bottle of habit rouge and i have smelled the new bottle in the Guerlain counter and I can safely say that in the case of Habit Rouge, the scent smells better. So it is a case by case basis but dont ruin the fragrance experience for those who have no access to vintage versions. That is all I am saying.

oh why do i even bother. rather go back to basenotes. more class and even their comebacks and trolling are funnier. And more substantial too.

another fake fragrance warehouse spotted and confronted on 11/10/2013.below is the advertisement, they had this last year too,but noticed that there's no name of the company this time.
[attachmentid=3671459]
upon arriving, btw its really near to my office,so wanna see what they are up to this time after i highlighted this to the msian consumers association(fomca) last year, and they are doing it again this time.
i took few photos and recorded down a conversation between me and a salesperson attending the fragrance booth and also the manager.the salesperson asked what i was looking for and said the frags are original, then upon further probing, the answer he gave me was that those frags are defected hence the price,rm129 each, many ppl were buying it actually.as we all said before over here,no such thing as defected or rejected perfume, many chanels on offer, logically will chanel sell defected stuffs?hmm
[attachmentid=3671461]thats the mini van carrying some product, theres a lot more in the building
last year i confronted the owner, this time only the manager is around, his name is Das,a very rude indian guy.hopefully i got everything i need and will lodge an official complain to fomca.melwani's has been duping many consumers already and many cases are voiced out on the net.hopefully next year this "warehouse sale" will be gone
*
All you need to do is just report the name of the company to Chanel and the contact person to them.they will do everything else. Chanel, Prada, Gucci and LVMH take their intellectual properties very seriously and they have the money to hire lawyers and investigators to do all the work. You could send an email directly to their HQ.

splits is a very good idea. but, if i were back at homeland, we can discuss it further. however, we are in different continent, it is not practical. £200 per bottle now in Ebay. sigh~

if you're near a Guerlain boutique it works too. SG Tangs has the full exclusif range.

the fabled derby is just another strong leather scent.

Harvey Nichols Edinburgh doesnt carry Guerlain exclusif range. Only Nasamatto, Dyptique(which is not exclusif anymore), Tocca, Tom Ford and Armani Prive. Need to travel to Harrods London for that. Hmmm
