What a pleasant surprise. My birthday present from http://shop.essenza-nobile.de came early today. I thought I would have to wait for another 2-3 days by POS Malaysia delivery standard since tracking status says it has only reached Kuching yesterday afternoon. Later I was told that it was actually delivered by Poslaju van. My parcel was shipped using DHL - Paket with tracking # (German national courier not DHL Express). Total time taken is just 10 days, which is almost the same if not better than DHL Express. I'm really pleased. It took 2 days for transits in Germany and 6 days to reach KL. Custom cleared and shipped out by POS Malaysia to Kuching on the same day. Reached Kuching the next day and delivered the day after, which is this afternoon.

Discovered this online store by accident when I was searching for places to get sample of Ambre Loup by Rania J Perfume that was recommended to me by another fellow fragrantican, who's also an amber junkie like me. If you haven't already know Rania J, she's a natural perfumer. Did a bit of googling on this online store before making the purchase. FYI, it has nothing but compliments from basenoters.

This online store ticks all my boxes for niche bottle purchase (with limited distribution). Perfumes are priced almost the same as perfume house e-stores. Shipping is at reasonable price of €9.99 for order > €100. Added 3 cheaper decants to make it to a total of €100. Comes with FREE 3 decants (any choice, any amount) with at least a full bottle purchase. Decant spray bottle (glass) looks like 4ml because it's longer than my 3ml decant bottle. On top of that, they have monthly FREE carded sample giveaway with current one being Liquides Imaginaires. I was supposed to get Mona di Orio but it was out of stock and I got Tardes by Carner Barcelona instead. I was so looking forward to sample her Les Nombres d’Or Ambre. Anyway, my 3 FREE decants happen to be of more expensive Amouage so I got more than I bargained for.

A sweet creamy amber (almost gourmand) with a touch of oud. It has raspberry accord due to combination of amber+jasmine+star anise I think. Opening is loud but quickly moves closer to skin with moderate projection but still has good longevity on my skin. You may or not like it as it has slight middle eastern vibe due to the presence of oud. It's currently my favorite designer amber.

1st of all, thanks to bro edward for the decants (Encre noire, Rive Gauche & Chergui). What do u all think about Encre Noire? I had full wearing yesterday & this morning....last nite was cooling & today's hot. I dun know abt the dark/mysterious/inky/earthy/dirty vibe ppl talking abt as I just thought its a clean, soothing ,calming , green feel to it on my skin. I felt at peace with it...cool or hot day / nite.  My gal didn't like it saying that she doesn't like powdery scent...well, I couldn't get her "powdery" claim as this scent is all but powdery. (She,however, thought tat Rive Gauche on me was nice..which I dun fancy much as it gav me the oldie/dated feel). I yet to seek others opinion on EN,wil do it later perhaps.

LOVE EN! If you compare it with Sycomore, it's darker. And it is great for our hot weather now. Even better though is Guerlain Vetiver!!! Cleaner and fresher with that woody (vetiver) vibe. I never get any powdery feel from all these 3 vetivers!

And Jarc, you are so right! Vetivers give me a very zen feel. Soothing and calming!

Yup. Longevity superb on my skin. Applied 9pm last nite & woke up 7am the scent still lingered. Asked my sis (in her early 30s) on the scent at dinner just now & she gave it a thumb up.  I gona give it a regular wearing for next few days but i know am liking it more & more already 

There are amber and vanilla in 2007 but not listed in 2011 version but I do get the sweetness from fruity pear note on top and amber in the dry down to my nose though. Amber itself has a honey-like sweetness to it.
Haha... but I just love my amber spicy. You may like Ambre Loup or Les Nombres d’Or Ambre by Mona di Orio if you're into amber based scents.

Just curious: how do you guys cope with the ever snow-balling inventory (in this context, your perfume)? Where do you store them? I know some people keep them in a chiller....

I used to keep mine in the fridge (but Home Minister was making noise and gave me an ultimatum to remove them). Now they are either in the cupboard or aluminum box (which I procured from Muji).
