Hey guys, I bought my perfume yesterday. Didn't settle for Chanel de Bleu, got the Chanel Allure Homme Edition instead, anyone care to share some reviews? I got it because I like how light the scent was after a period of time..

Photo attached with the post. Feel free to share your thoughts. I kinda felt Chanel de Bleu was too strong for me..

Congratulation on your new purchase. I own a bottle of it and I love it. Compared to Bleu de Chanel (which is a little synthetic), this one IMHO, is the most natural lemon cream pie scent one can get. It's rumored to be discontinued two years ago, it's still widely available in Malaysia today. I wear this when I'm the best man or to a wedding ceremony.

Pure Citrus juice heaven... so natural and it comes in 150ml bottle... it is a cheaper version of Chanel Eau de Cologne Les Exclusif... i also like AHS and EB just that they are a tad too sweet for my likings...

Thanks biggrin.gif. Why the discontinuation? It's actually 20bucks pricier than Chanel de Bleu. This was the closest thing to the kind of scent I'd want to find. Seeing as how this bottle is so darn expensive, I wonder if I should use this on a daily basis. I'm not a perfume person so I usually just buy one and use the it daily until it finishes. Shall I just save this for important occasions and go perfume-free on normal days?

I had a tester for the Homme Sport, I guess maybe I didn't wait around long enough to truly judge for Homme Sport, the high note of the perfume turned me off so I didn't bother waiting for the base note to settle in :/... I'll bear in mind to look for Homme Sport next time.

Eh.. according to the girl I bought from, she mentioned it can last for all day. I'm not sure. scent-wise.. I can't believe you're asking me to describe it LOL. I am the worst person you can possibly ask about perfumes.. To me, it doesn't smell lemony, it just has a refreshing, subtle smell. I'm sure if the word "soap" would appeal to you, but that's what the scent is, except much fragrant and not overpowering. If someone passed me by with that scent, the first word that comes in to my mind would probably be refreshing and just really fresh. Reason why I didn't get Bleu de Chanel was only because it smelled too much like the perfume that my brother used and I wanted to avoid confusion.

Just try it on your skin.. Performance varies by individual..

I think Allure Homme Blanche Edition is more of a sillage than projection. That's just my personal opinion.

But, but, why would she lie, lol jk biggrin.gif
The thing is I usually blind buy my frags based on recommendations and reviews, without even trying them on my skin (yeah I know, please don't flame me ahaha),
thankfully I'm happy with all my purchases so far.

But maybe this time I'll give it a try smile.gif

The book "Scent and Subversion" is all about classic/vintage fragrances made from year 1882 to 2000. It's a good reference book for those curious about it and classic/vintage amateur alike. It's basically printed copy of author's blog, yesterdaysperfume.com with added chapters on animalic notes (which you can also find at perfumeshrine.com), future of scent and some tips. With that said, like the book "Cult Perfumes", it makes a nice coffee table book and for personal preference, I still prefer to read from a book. If you wish to take a sneak peek, Amazon provides preview pages at :-

It's a little pricier because it's a concentree (or EdP). Not sure why the rumored discontinuation. The folks in US started it. Probably it's no longer commonly available there but I still see it listed on chanel.com :-
- http://www.chanel.com/en_US/fragrance-beau...n-Blanche-88409

Here are some of the threads that started the discontinuation :-
- http://www.fragrantica.com/board/viewtopic.php?id=36039
- http://www.basenotes.net/threads/298671-Ch...Soon-to-be-gone

AHEB has moderate projection for the first couple of hours on my skin then turns into skin scent after 4th hour and disappears after 6 hours. I'll save it for special occasions if it's expensive.
