Is it recommended to update? using your Q5pro at the moment.

Has anyone tried new Astro GO app with Q10 pro? Mine videos are not playing.

Just rcv my Q10 pro last weekend with Mele deluxe air mouse.
A few quick questions
1) Mele deluxe can use to power off but power on not working. Using bundled Q10 pro can power off and power on ok.
[COLOR=purple]It works when only you press the "STB" or the "mybox" first then press the orange color Power button

2) When playing 4k HDR mkv using himedia media player aspect ratio is wrong as always shown as full screen only
[COLOR=purple]Known bugs since few months back. Latest firmware not fixing it. :

3) When using himedia media player sometimes (24 hz content and TV auto switch to 24hz mode) when using return key to exit the movie, Q10 lost video signal to TV, need to press one more time return key then sync back to tv at 4K@60hz GUI.
[COLOR=purple]Not experience it on my tv. May be due to the firmware version. I am using Android 5.1 1.1.0 firmware

4) Using KODI 17, exit the app takes a very long time and sometimes stuck at exit screen. Need to off and on the unit.
Else it is giving excellent PQ.
[COLOR=purple]Using Android 5.1 1.1.0 firmware. Still using the Kodi 16 version.

2. how big is this 4k HDR mkv file? there are some bs ones, a few gb's only, bad stuff.

- from 10Gb to 50GB plus
- I confirm not file problem cos when I use USB playback on Samsung HDR TV correct aspect ratio
You can actually see HDR UDH lit up on TV when HDR is detected and play

3. are u using AVR, i.e. Q10pro->AVR->TV? if yes, what sequence u use to switch on and off?

- Q10 pro direct to TV and coaxial to SPDIF as AVR does not support 4K HDR passthrough
- actually I referring watching 24hz mkv and Himedia and exit mid day by pressing remote return and HDMI lost signal detected by TV. If I press return 2nd time on remote Himedia syncs back to TV at 4k60hz.. I suspect autoswitch freq bug in himedia.

Kodi - this thing has been there forever, not due to box but due to some crap in yr kodi build which happens over time as u add more stuff, play various links. to get rid of this, u need to keep kodi clean, i.e. use indigo addon/maintenance to regularly remove cache, obsolete addons and other dirt.
i am on android7, firmware 2.0.1, have not come across this wrong aspect ratio.

- the new 17.1 is really slow on exit. Kodi 16.x with many addons much faster to exit.
- new 17.1 native player also slows in playing big mkv files (20+ GB) from NAS. no issue when using Himedia media player using the same file to the same NAS.
BTW HDR like planet earth 2 fullscreen looks awesome on Samsung SUHD...

I am interested in the Q10 pro but have a few question. Will it come preloaded with the necessary kodi plugin to watch drama (english/china/hongkong) ? As in I can just plug and play after received? Possible to watch those China drama that are geolocked ?

Sorry for my late response, was busy today.

The Kodi has been preinstalled with addons to watch English, china, Korean and HK dramas. Just plug, connect to internet and play.

Geoblock is depend on the app not the box. We have preinstalled multiple apps, when one app is blocked just switch to another. China movies or drama had no worry at all because there are too many apps to watch Chinese drama. Even YouTube has lots of Chinese dramas and variety shows.

i have such files too, but have not had any aspect ratio issues so far.

as for the frame switching, it does not happen to me if i stay with native playback.

but it will switch if say i go from playback to kodi or some other app, which is to be expected.

i am using q10pro->4k avr->4k tv.

u probably want to try android7 firmware 2.0.1.

Thanks..nicety shipped the unit with 2.01..I have not installed any apps..apparently the HDR aspect ratio is a firmware bug...(see http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1682.0 )...new firmware coming in May to fix this and Kodi 17.x audio passthrough

Bro,Im using Asus router that support Download manager. Downloaded items will be save to the external drive. Since q10 can put external drive n the enclosure,Can I connect my asus router to q10 so that the downloaded items goes straight to Q10 drive?
