MyTV is going live tomorrow. TV requires a DVB-T2 decoder according to myfreeview.tv unless the set is an IDTV. Would the Q10 be able to receive it as well ?
*
q10pro doesn't have that feature.

but most new smart TVs wud have, need an antenna, though.

alternative is to use apps that use these transmission sources.

Hi bro, can pm me the price? is there any apps pre-loaded with streaming capability or VOD? by the way, currently I'm still using full hd tv, will there be any problem if play 4k blu-ray file with this q10 pro, example like black screen etc... or it will still play through the 4k file but only output 1080P quality? thank you.
*
q10pro will detect what the tv or AVR capabilities are.

it will by default set itself to the highest possible.

u can manually change it under settings/display but for fullHDtv, it will not allow anything higher than 1080p 60hz.

also, as explained in the other thread, if the video is HDR, it will convert to SDR.

so, for a 2160p HDR video, it will output at 1080p SDR.

framerate is auto... will auto set to 24, 25, 30, 50 or 60 as per video original - for every video u play.

take good care of yr q10pro.

it is still one of the best boxes today after >3 years.

new himedia S500 is a poor box, imo - good only for those who wants netflix HD on AndroidTV OS.

very disappointed... can forget it.

1. No. The HiSilicon chipset is not supported beyond standard Android by Kodi. Audio is 2 channel PCM. There is no wrapper available for Kodi.
2. Youtube in 4K, Netflix in 1080p. PCM 2 channel stereo max.
3. Yes, same as above.
4. Not true. The specs have changed a bit since first listing, mostly due to the specs fed to us being incorrect. 3D will play in MKV and ISO using an app such as VLC.
5. No.

In general, HiMedia S500 is a good option for running Android TV and the apps you can download using it from Play Store. It's main advantage over similar products is the enhanced picture quality coming from the HiSilicon chipset. It has no hardware video playback app and does not support HD-Audio passthrough (something HiMedia helpfully confirmed to us only today!). It also has no framerate or resolution switching.

*
Yes, i know what u mean.... the video lags the audio.

Doesnt happen all the time, and only wuth certain channels.

It happens with other boxes too.... some worse than others.

This has been around since the beta version of the new app.

Nothing can be done... hopefully future versions will eliminate the problem.

Just to check anyone still able to run Astro go on their q10? Mine can’t. It says update require. And AppStore didn’t show anything and stated not compatible with your device anymore
