Don't understand your questions smile.gif
If you mean if user could upgrade SSD for HDD and increase RAM to 8GB aftermarket, then obviously yes.
If you mean if Dell has any option for potential buyer to customise during purchase, in certain markets, it has spec that come with 128G SSD + 8GB RAM, just not in Malaysia yet tongue.gif

W8SL has no problem with SSD or 8GB RAM  laugh.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
"actually the 5470 is able to upgrade to 8GB but the window can't detect it, so there is no point to upgrade as it will be waste of money"

i got this directly from their Dell agent rclxub.gif

his reason is that "it's just that the 5460 & 5470 is built in this way as this is the limitation for it"; "if your peers has 5460 that can support 8GB then he is lucky for it" doh.gif

sifu any idea if he's BS-ing?

1. OS Media kit - I asked like a girl..lol..but what I get is "but now we don't provide the cd for the window or driver anymore"

2. Nah, I don't want xp. I want to try out win 8...but sometimes my butt gets itchy and I tend to do some stupid stuff. What if I just formatted and install windows 7 just for fun. Does this mean I've lost my ori windows 8 forever? Bye bye?..lol..

3. Hmmm..oh yeah...if I remember correctly, windows 8.1 can be upgraded for free ?

Anyway, I'm sooo bored with the old windows look. I would really like to try out some new things. My brain is starting to stagnate and it's starving...Haha..I'm not saying win 8 is superb..I haven't tried it yet...so I can't comment..and btw, I'm saying the above just because so happen I'm getting a new laptop..otherwise I won't bother..lol

try asking other sales agent in the chat. maybe others are more generous to give you the Media Kit rclxms.gif

maybe reliable but not so popular due to simple design
the advantage of it is only slim and light but the design is plain and look empty.
perhaps most reviewer attracted to other model such as Hp envy, sony vaio pro, lenovo ideapad and asus vivobook

Sometimes simple design is better than those complicated one - especially in my case if i am getting one for work (tak kan you want "outstanding design" like msi ge40 - the dragon eyes staring at colleagues during meeting hahaha).

anyway really look forward for the review on 5470, too bad it doesnt come with m-sata like the previous one or ssd option. any sifu know if the interior built of 5470 is similar with 5460? if yes then we can do the same upgrade like 5460 rclxm9.gif

"how good" is too subjective to explain  sweat.gif
but can refer notebookcheck.net to see the performance ranking
if i m not mistaken, its slightly below nvidia 630m

but this Inspiron 7000, its slimmer compared to vostro 5460 but heavier
15.3mm with 2kg, compared to 18mm with 1.3kg.

here's the link i found biggrin.gif
