QUOTE(joytest @ May 11 2013, 11:55 PM) Samsung service center probably does have IMEI flashing software to ensure your phone gets the same IMEI. Correct. I change my son S3 motherboard (SDS issue) n noted imei remains the same This post has been edited by benny888: May 12 2013, 07:05 AM

QUOTE(kurtkantoi @ May 12 2013, 03:37 PM) Now its working. Just change to Odin 1.85 that included in the zip file. Now, I will use Mobile Odin to TWRP image recovery. I can use any image in the download site is it? Use the latest one if you want . Why bother even to use those older versions

QUOTE(kurtkantoi @ May 12 2013, 03:45 PM) The new version did not detect my phone and keep failing when I try to root. Is there any difference or risk if I'm using old Odin? I m referring to twrp I never use odin above 1.87 as the newer versions above usually unreliable

QUOTE(kurtkantoi @ May 12 2013, 03:55 PM) Thanks. I haven't flash TWRP. Is it ok? Plan to backup everything first. TWRP is many, many times better than CWM. Have listed many times why this is so. N not going to repeat it again

QUOTE(kurtkantoi @ May 12 2013, 04:47 PM) Sorry. This is my 1st time root android. I just flash TWRP recovery in Mobile Odin. Now I know TWRP is an apps to for recovery purpose. The reason I mention that I want to back up my device because I'm following step 2 which is backup my EFS folder. I didn't know I can do this in TWRP. So after backup my device with TWRP, can I say my rooting is complete? Rooting is done when you flash chainfire root file. Recovery only for slightly advanced users who want to do backup/restore rom n flash custom rom, kernel or modem

QUOTE(kurtkantoi @ May 12 2013, 05:14 PM) Thanks joytest. Such a huge file. Around 3.5GB in my phone (ticked all option in TWRP backup). So for better backup, I should get Titanium & Nandroid is it? Since they provide online/cloud backup. Nandroid is a Must incase your phone fail to boot up. Than you boot to recovery n restore Titanium Only works in a working phone. It only restore 90+% of your apps n Some stuffs eg sms, call logs etc you need another app to back up it This post has been edited by benny888: May 12 2013, 05:40 PM

QUOTE(Superman7 @ May 12 2013, 09:17 PM) Checked the first page but couldn't find a statement saying if the new bootloader is possible to be rooted directly via PC Odin. I know in the past, the bootloader needed to be downgraded . Not too sure after so long if there is already a possibility to root directly with the latest bootloader. Thanks. Can, use CF Root method ( use Odin in PC ) but no Recovery. After root use Mobile odin to flash TWRP This post has been edited by benny888: May 12 2013, 09:20 PM

QUOTE(Superman7 @ May 13 2013, 12:27 AM) btw, is it possible for the TWRP to recognize external SD card? I did the backup and it is stored in the internal memory. Would like to move the entire TWRP folder to the SD card You didn't see the option in the menu backup to external Sdcard?

The jeans wearing generation will probably find note2.too big as they cannot fit it comfortably in the pockets of their jeans And such people rarely wear shirts with pockets too Those who always wear slacks or shirts with pockets will have no problem with it

QUOTE(kurtkantoi @ May 14 2013, 07:33 AM) Is there any legal issue to record phone conversation? If no, can someone suggest any apps to enable call recording? Thanks. My favorite a free app from appstar "auto call recorder". Sound recording n playback is excellent

QUOTE(SwarmTroll @ May 15 2013, 06:36 AM) Wifi optimization ( save battery life ) in settings can cause this? Or dsbs can cause this as well? Flash back to stock rom n assess again Is probably kernel issue or hardware problem Apps such as dsbs or wifi optimization in settings will not affect.

Less than an hour ??? Unless there is no one else at the center !!! Be prepared to wait at least up to 2 hours. Even re flash a rom takes 1.5 to 2 hours wait

QUOTE(PeeEl @ May 24 2013, 09:13 PM) I am giving you good advice here since you are new here lest you be crucified later and run into your hole with your tail in between your legs. I am just being cruel to be kind. So, don't start to be insolent. His problem is he expect to see a immediate solution. He doesn't bother to explore the app further by looking at its options/or preferences/or even the app menu key We hope he will learn to do these instead asking next step??
