ow I see. btw, trying out bluestacks just for fun, turns out its based on android 2.3, good effort, but I guess I will uninstall it for now lol. Everything is pixelated on my monitor, and that humongous orange bar and thick loading circle is not something which I actually wanted to see again XD

QUOTE(joytest @ May 10 2013, 12:29 AM) Firstly welcome to the forum. I don't believe you're in the Owners' List. Do add yourself via the form in post 4. looking at the CPU usage, yes I guess its really native. The scrolling speed is just off, one "click" makes it go to the bottom of my facebook feed My famous question when people make such posts: Were you using a proper casing (ie one that COMPLETELY encloses the phone) ? I suppose it slipped off your thighs and fell on tarmac? Screen replacement is RM700. Don't think it's emulated. It's compiled on x86 and runs natively. Full blown OS on some selected Atom netbooks. Of course you could run a prebuilt VirtualBox image as well, but it is still native x86. still a lot of work to do I guess. Maybe I should just try out the intel version someday. might be less user friendly bu t should run much better imo.btw, did you read about merrifield on Anandtech? Seems to be pretty awesome. As long as they get some huge design wins, we might see Intel slowly dominating the mobile world just like the desktop world. It will take some time, but its certainly possible |

QUOTE(joytest @ May 10 2013, 03:38 PM) The only reason to go for the S4 is the screen, finally, no more pixel to be sen on the homescreen and default system apps. Just need to hold out for another 5-6 months!!! >< I actually already have a buyer for this phone by the time note 3 launches, RM 1xxx, hopefully he would be still interested on the phone by then |

they seem to be really confident that the s2 will be getting 4.2.2, wonder if it will also get some of the new features like the new camera app.
I guess its just samsung's way of saying thanks to the phone that brought them where they are now |

QUOTE(antt00 @ May 11 2013, 07:33 PM) Use GPS for 1 hour today Papago (cos waze fail me for the first time sending me to some unknown factory place. a really dependable and reliable phone when shit happens And at the end of the day still can get 4.5 hours of SOT. Damn cun our batt. has never disappointed me till the last drop of batt so far with a 1080p screen in tow, I wonder if the note 3 needs to have at least a 4000mah batt to have almost the same, if not better SOT? |

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ May 11 2013, 09:34 PM) More to getting the right "mix" between hardware and firmware I belif . Got a sgs3 with extended battery by Samsung of 3000mah . SOT can't even be near to Note2 . 100mah difference , forgivable right since sgs3 is only 4.8" . Still , no where close to Note2 . Wait when I'm free , I go take a sc for u guys 2 compare as it's my bini's phone . yeah, theres some "magic" samsung has done with the note 2 which is giving us such great SOT. My SOT now 4.5 hours with 45% batt life left. Only wifi though and up time is 9 hours plus only. Cant really say its because of the sensorhub whatever it is, hope it remains the same or gets better with the note 3 |

QUOTE(joytest @ May 15 2013, 07:04 PM) Err IINM the systemUI.apk is different between ROMs. You could do a backup via some root explorer and then either do an ADB push or place via root explorer with the same permissions and reboot. If you bork your phone I think you can perform ADB push to restore the original version. iinm since our phone's firmware has basically been the same damn thing since ages ago, I don't think it will be problematic For example, the multiwindow mod for tose really old ROMs still work till today |
