Hi guys, I have a N7105.
I'm trying to run GTA:VCS on PPSSPP and it lags very badly.
I suspect its our outdated GPU since it performs very badly on benchmarks such as 3Dmark

QUOTE(joytest @ May 12 2013, 02:36 PM) Or maybe the game is badly written? Not the first time. What is PPSSPP ? PPSSPP: http://www.ppsspp.org/

QUOTE(joytest @ May 12 2013, 02:47 PM) Emulator? Any kind of emulation is going to suck somewhat. It is running JIT code, so the parser has to be very efficient. If not, then... If it says it can work on the following: I'm quite sure the others are going to lag even worse. Only the Nexus 10 in this list, and maybe Nexus 4, has a more powerful GPU. hooh888 any views on this? IIRC, the Adreno 225 is faster than our Mali400MP GPU

My friend helped me root my Note 2 and I would like to try CM10.1, hoping that it will give me a better battery life over my already awesome usage time per stint.
I would like to backup my internal memory, i've Googled about and stumbled upon CWM. So I flashed it using ODIN and i'm now in the menu.
So my question is:
Am I able to backup my internal storage by using CWM > Backup & Restore > Backup to External SD?

QUOTE(joytest @ May 15 2013, 04:36 PM) Note (pun) that all the non-TW ROMs will lose the S-note etc TW stuff, and you CANNOT restore it. If you really love S-note, I suggest get off it and use something like HandyNote which is usable across all Androids, with Evernote/Dropbox sync and restore. The CWM backup creates a complete image of your ROM, so if you restore it, you will get your phone back to the status where you backed it up. Titanium Backup is used to backup individual apps and data, which you can use to restore across new ROMs. Read posts 6, 7 and 8 first. Thanks for going into such detail. In fact i've been using S Note alternatives like HandyNote Pro and Papyrus since 4.1.1 days. Back then the S Note wasn't as slick as it currently is. I will spend time to read your posts

QUOTE(antt00 @ May 15 2013, 04:39 PM) Which CWM are you using? Advice you to ONLY use Philz CWM or TWRP. And yes you can backup to External SD. I'm using this http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanagerNote II (LTE) v6.0.3.1

QUOTE(joytest @ May 15 2013, 04:49 PM) What is your Note model? Most here have the N7100 (3G) whereas N7105 is the LTE model. Do add yourself into the Owners' List in post 4. Thanks. CWM for both models are different IINM. Will do after I finish the backup

The colours on CM10.1 are so saturated, any way to tweak the screen mode? I usually use movie mode...
Or Register Hook enabled on my S3

QUOTE(joytest @ May 15 2013, 10:32 PM) I have no idea about this coz I'm not an A/V guy, so saturated or not does not bother me very much. I believe noobi3 or alexng2208 or even antt00 are more attuned to this factor. EDIT: I believe you are using Perseus kernel. The perseus kernel thread on XDA has a nice writeup on color gamut and etc etc which you may check on to determine if it can help. Nope, i've tried flashing Perseus kernel on CM10.1 and I wouldn't boot

QUOTE(XaViErX @ May 15 2013, 11:12 PM) Unfortunately, Perseus does not have support for AOSP roms QUOTE(joytest @ May 15 2013, 11:15 PM) Oh yes. There are 3 types of kernel. TW based, AOSP based, and Hybrid. Choose the correct one. Perhaps you can find STweaks or Trickster mod and tweak some mDNIE settings. Ahhh, Perseus is a TW based Kernel. That explains. And yes i've found MDNIE __________________________________________________________________________ Apparently I did an internal storage wipe and tried restoring it with CWM backups and it didn't work I only lost some stuff since all of my camera pictures are stored in the external SD card

QUOTE(joytest @ May 16 2013, 01:17 AM) Looks like there are only about 10 custom ROMs for the N7105. Should not be too hard to add. By this weekend should be able to add it up. Only tried Wanam and CM10.1 so far. Flashed Wanam straight after rooting

QUOTE(joytest @ May 16 2013, 01:46 AM) antt00 probably is. See his sig. Touchwake is a constant wakelock to save you 200ms-500ms each time you press your home button BTW: Malaysia boleh ...... http://www.frogasia.com/v3/1bestarinet/ I see, I think I will only turn that on if i'm using my phone on a on-off-on usage. And I noticed something, DEVIL's kernel can't adjust LED brightness
