Argh, battery life is not as good as I expected...

Seems like the kernel that came with T0lte's CM10.1 on my N7105 is locking the cores, making it all 4 cores are online and the minimum clock speed is 800MHz and it never drops below it. Surfing Facebook on WiFi gives me an average 4 minutes every 1% of battery drop. And that explains the silky smoothness of the entire UI, eliminating the input lag.

After flashing Devil's kernel and after some tweaking of the CPU hotplug, trying to imitate my near-perfection settings on my S3's sTweaks on my N7105's DevilTools on Lulzactive governor (pegasusq governor didn't have the any options for me to play with), despite having the same hotplug values, the amount of cores online is much more flexible, but still it doesn't drop down to 200MHz where the voltage is much more lower, it still fluctuates between 800MHz to 1200MHz (as I have restricted it to 2 cores online as its maximum and 1200MHz). However it was giving me better battery consumption of 7 minutes per 1% battery.

A far cry compared to my previous Wanamlite + Perseus Kernel combination. I could get 10 to 15 minutes per % of battery. In other words, a full charge could give me at least 17 hours of screen time on the lowest brightness, on 5GHz WiFi.

I'm beginning to miss TW already cry.gif

sifu antt00 did mention that wanam and perseus combination give the best battery life based on his experience, that's exactly what i am using now too, and i must say, i can't possibly agree more. IMO this really is by far one of the best i tried in terms of battery life, so perhaps you want to go back to that combination?  tongue.gif

And I restored my CWM backup and i'm back to Wanamlite biggrin.gif

Woo ... .post 8 under Kernels you can read all about master sklchan 's perseus tweak settings.
Why don't you turn on your irresistible (irrepressible? whistling.gif ) charm and persuade [Xa]0102 to swap.
*
WHAT???? sklchan is from LYN shocking.gif shocking.gif shocking.gif

I've been reading his posts in XDA's perseus thread. He's the one who made me understand ABB/FBB

QUOTE(antt00 @ May 16 2013, 03:06 PM)
To be honest, AOSP rom for note 2 is not optimize due to lack of sources. Many have reported stock rom have better battery life than AOSP.
*
Yep, that's what I have thought so to.

OMG how did you drop it? And with a proper casing as well? Your crack ( whistling.gif ) didn't cause the digitizer to malfunction I suppose?
BTW I added N7105 ROMs as a selectable option in the survey now. So you can rate all ROM types since you have both models of the Note 2 tongue.gif

bill2012 your homescreen added to post 13.
*
I pushed it off my table with this exact casing on it. It was a bit loose in contrast of my other cases so I guess it slid off a little and made contact with the floor. The screen is working fine, still passed the Wacom test in *#0*#

Will do biggrin.gif

I think he's around XDA and LYN. So is pikachu. Pikachu has either a HTC One or Sony XZ I can't remember. sklchan shares the same phone models I like (N8, Note, Note 2) hehe  rclxms.gif
*
I can see he's a pro. Good in both Symbian and Android.

My only Symbian experience as a hacker was cooking and flashing S60v5 firmwares on my crappy 5800xm smile.gif

Because I love those colours. Since the non LTE ones costs lesser so I got it. I only use the 2 grey sets for calls and serious work. The other 2 is my shopping companion and movie player biggrin.gif

My goodness that phone is so overrated. I mean the build is magnificent but I had to sacrifice so much.

I'd love to hear more about why you switched back - I really dig the industrial design, I've been thinking once some decent ROMs pop up I might make the switch... what about the device made you want to come back to the GN2?

The battery sucked on stock. Flashed cm10 the battery sucked on that. Flashed aokp the battery sucked on there too. Went back to sense based Viper Rom, battery was better but still sucked. I lived by the wall on my charger.
Sense is boring other than that feed thing. I missed multi window and spen features. I also like to swap sd cards between my devices (tablet, android mini pc, laptop, etc).
I'm good.

Yea I was gonna get the S4 for my girl but she loves the Note 2 I got her. She's still amazed at the battery life. Keep in mind that we had Nexus 4's and we hated the battery life on those too. Im saying no to internal batteries from now on unless they are 3300 mah or better like the razr maxx.

I literally bought the note 2 on a whim when my contact was up for renewal. I had no idea what I was getting into. I'm not sure I could ever go back to regular battery life again after pulling 14h of my crazy life on this thing.
*
I have a friend, she bought 2 N7105s at the same time as I did. A week later, swapped one of it for a I9300, as she thought it was a hassle to carry 2 large phones that weighs almost 400g. Guess what, after using it barely after a month, she traded her I9300 for a new N7105 sweat.gif

She missed the Spen and the Multiwindows as well, just like the G+ people. Most of all it was the undefeated battery life(thou my old iPhone 4 lasted longer tongue.gif).

*note: Back in October, S3s were still on ICS; no multiwindows YET.

not bad considering if it has the iphone 5 exterior, samsung's everything else with my fav 5.5 screen, slimmer bezel (like the S4)..
oh my sad.gif

which ROM did you try?
the Tablet Z is amazing, and i totally agree with you!

nexus 7... maybe it would be

Nexus 5, Nexus 8, Nexus 11 next considering the increased "premium" smartphone, tablet and full sized tablet direction...

I was T0lte's CM10.1 Nightly. I'd say the CPU was running too high, more than what the OS needed

You will lose S-Pen and digitizer functionality simply for FHD and a faster CPU. No other difference. IMHO, not worth it.
*
I love it's lockscreen and its unlock animations.

I've test driven the Optimus G for 3 days before. The screen is SUPERB, better than iPhones, input lag is literally NONE. The camera is able to do spot metering.

But their version of the mock multiwindows is pretty useless sweat.gif

[Xa]0102, due to the square brackets in your username we cannot tag you.

Being able to achieve 7 hours of screen time is something worth mentioning.

I wish I could achieve it on CM10.1

SwarmTroll were you on WiFi for the full duration of usage?

yeah, build.prop editing... but was just trying to say that it would be even more believable if the bar was flat, like how it is on s4 smile.gif

but of course I get what you mean, but then again I don't think Faryaab would be simply faking it as he is a part of Sammobile now~

Were you able to change the exposure of your image when you tap to focus?

All 4 of my N710X weren't able to do so
