I have tried ABNxess, and i would like to give it a thumb DOWN. And I have cancelled it right after CNY.
First, their pricing is not real, compare to other ISP, other ISP will charge according to what they advertised, ABNxess is NOT. There are hidden charges, they claim its gov tax, while other ISP either dont have gov tax or they absorbed the amount. The day i went to cancel, they were arguing with their customer who refuse to pay the hidden cost.
Secondly, the speed that they claim is not true also, I applied 10mbps, i have done like 20-30 speedtests, few times a day, sometimes during noon, sometimes during night, even midnight over few days, the maximum speed(both up and down) i get WILL NEVER exceed 70% of the 10mbps, most of the time i m getting ~5 mbps up and down. I had maxis at the same time, i able to get more than 90% of the speed advertised at almost anytime(10mbps), sometimes i able to get more than 100%, using the same speedtest site, same time, to the same server.
Thirdly, ping is higher, couldnt complain much about this as they are using cable, hard to defeat fiber.
Lastly, their hardware, isnt reliable enough, compare to unifi or maxis, i can buy a good expensive router, flash it with tomato, then i can get the problem permanently solved, u cant replace their cable router, adding another layer wont solve any problem.
So my conclusion is, ABN isnt as cheap as they advertise, 10% more due to tax, unsure how things might change after consumer tax, but at this moment, technically its more expensive than my maxis(10mbps/RM118), vs ABN(7mbps/RM10x.xx).
u took the package that comes with channel right? the tax is actually for the channel, like how astro charge tax. other than that, i agree with everything else u said.
