Do you all facing problem when browsing website? You need to refresh many time in order to able to access the website.

Not sure why abnxcess hire low quality engineer to handle the network.

Wonder do abnxcess afford to hire CCIE to work with them

News

http://www.theedgemarkets.com/my/article/a...unan-loan-poser

KUALA LUMPUR: Things are not going according to plan for Asian Broadcasting Network (M) Sdn Bhd (ABN) which two years ago during its launch had marketed itself as a serious challenger to Astro in the pay-TV sector.

Money woes despite a RM450 million loan from Bank Pembangunan (M) Bhd has seen the cable TV company which had billed itself as the country’s first digital cable network, delay salaries and payments to installers and service contractors, among others.

The company’s financial statements for financial year ended June 30, 2014 (FY14) were not available from searches with the Companies Commission of Malaysia indicating it had yet to file its statements.

However records filed for FY13 showed accumulated losses of RM36.2 million, including losses of RM30.7 million for the year.

Non-current and current assets stood at RM189.89 million and RM22.79 million, respectively compared with non-current and current liabilities of RM102 million and RM38.82 million.

Another factor that raised concerns is that ABN has posted zero revenue since FY09.

The question now is how is ABN going to repay the RM450 million loan from the government-owned Bank Pembangunan (held by the Minister of Finance Inc and the Federal Lands Commissioner) which was meant to help fund the company’s RM2 billion capital expenditure.

Company financial records show that the loan has yet to be serviced, as well as a RM15 million loan from Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) ( Financial Dashboard) taken in 2012.

Details of the loans are sketchy and Bank Pembangunan has invoked the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 1989 (BAFIA) as well as the Financial Services Act 2013 in refusing to address media queries since the loan was approved in early 2013.

It is also learnt that the company has run afoul of the law by not making Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributions since late last year.

Several former staff who spoke to The Edge Financial Daily said they had filed complaints with EPF. They are also bracing themselves for notices from the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) fearing tax deductions were also not submitted by the company.

It had also breached basic labour regulations by delaying salaries — with staff receiving their pay cheques way after the seventh day of every month since January.

Signs that things were coming to a head at the company were evident when it shut down its news division last Monday, taking ABN News off the air and its news portals off the Internet, as well as closing the studio unit which supports the news broadcasts. About 60 staff have also been let go.

Several employees who spoke to The Edge Financial Daily said they were given a month’s salary to enable them to leave immediately.

ABN president and chief executive officer Sreedhar Subramaniam has not responded to numerous queries directed to him as well as through the company’s communications executives.

Now it is learnt that senior communications executives have also been retrenched.

ABN’s digital cable TV service marketed as ABNxcess, which went live on June 8, 2013, had boasted of providing speeds of up to 300 Mbps through its hybrid fibre-coaxial technology for its internet service and broadcasts of over 500 channels.

It now has 52 channels, airing mostly programmes from the Indian subcontinent and China.

Customer reviews of the service have been mostly negative based on complaints to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and customer feedback sites. Among the main grouses are slow uptime and poor customer service.

Tycoon Tan Sri K K Eswaran is the largest shareholder of ABN through a 70% shareholding of ABN Media Group — ABN’s holding company.

The rest are owned by Admiral (Rtd) Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor via Mutu Pedoman Sdn Bhd (10%) and former Home Ministry secretary-general Tan Sri Mohamad Noor Abdul Rahim via Kurnia Mantap Sdn Bhd (20%).

Apart from Mohd Anwar, Mohamad Noor, Sreedhar and K K’s brother K Selveswaran, other directors include former Petronas Dagangan Bhd ( Financial Dashboard) director Datuk Kamaruddin Mohd Jamal and lawyer Datuk C Vijay Kumar.

ABN obtained a five-year digital cable broadcast licence through Nilamas Corp Bhd (which ABN was known as then). This licence was activated in 2013.
