Hi, guys just got my ABN 2months back,
i would say much improvement in terms of speed over my 1mbps streamyx lol
but there's always the occasional disconnects , like when i got back from work or class then the online will be blinking lol , sometimes i can fix it with just restarting but sometimes needa wait awhole day . happens normally ?
torrents okay i guess works okay at about 200kb/s , youtube 360p stream smoothly , 480p maybe stutter abit and then smooth lol , Dota2 is okay hardly 100+ms ping . only prob is i can't seem to stream Twitch.Tv at all , was wondering anyone facing similar problem?

how do u guys check how much bandwidth used?
i've been doing okay with about 9mbps when i check now
and i've dl-ed 12gb of walking dead last week .
is the capping occuring for each month and refreshes in another month?
*
are u able to run torrent now as we speak?

The disconnection is pretty normal, no idea what caused that. probably the modem or just ABN side.

I'm only guessing but since you say you got 9mbps then you might have 10 mbps package.

Here is what you should expect from a 10 mbps package.
- Full download speed of torrents or any download is 1.1 MB/s (not 200kb/s)
- Able to stream twitch.tv at source quality
- Able to run 2 or 3 youtube 1080p simultaneously smoothly without shutter.

By the terms set by SKMM in Quality of Service Act, you should be able to enjoy the above 95% of the time in a time period of 24 hours.
I know you said its an improvement from a 1mbps, and its obviously is no doubt. But you're still getting cheated for your moneh worth from what they promised you. If they are charging you 1/5 of what they are charging you now, then you're getting your money worth, but right now you are not.

As for capping, they didnt usually cap (and they market their service to have no cap). Before it was universal speed throttle everytime at night after 8pm till 1am, and every weekends. Now it seems like they are capping in a daily basis. So if you used 2.5GB or more, then your speed will be throttle to 2mbps, which still a better improvement of 1mpbs streamyx, but still you are getting cheated by what they promised you.

There shouldn't be any cap. You shouldn't be asking it like its a normal thing vmad.gif mad.gif vmad.gif mad.gif vmad.gif mad.gif vmad.gif mad.gif

-yeap 10mbps rm99
the random disconnections are a real bummer , sometimes u just wanna wind down relax use ur internet and then this fckin abn decides to dc for fun lol

-well torrents depends on seeds so yeah , the 200mb file(which had good ratio) got up to 700kb/s(maybe it could've gone up more but alrd done downloading) ,maybe its off peak hour
-yeah initially the first few week of getting ABN , i cold do so at source quality , afterwards its just stuck at loading video screen
-alrightt should try that sometime , im just too lazy to change the 480p lol quite enough for me

alright so to make it clear , the cap is daily thing ,so if u exceed 2.5gb in a day , it throttles but resets the next day?

alright thanks for the heads up , i'll see how it goes , if it goes on i'll complain too haha
i rmbr complaining long time ago for streamyx under MCMC , the service was fast and rectified the prob str8 away ,
but from what i read , nowadays is complain to diff dep. alrd?

my 2mbps/1mbps throttling gone again (hope they finally make a u-turn), heard that AAG submarine cable were already fixed, are this the main reason why they do the throttling because their Bulk bandwidth provider charge more expensive during the cable breakdown, they should just mentioned the estimated recovery date rather than keep silence and doubting the throttling implementation.

I wish they we would have more redundancy if AAG submarine cable breaks down, however, currently AAG submarine cable were not even 100% utilized (Total capacity: 2.88Terabit/s) sweat.gif

No sense if a company suddenly implement bandwidth cap or implement more stricter throttling policy when they are offering unlimited quota on Fixed-line broadband(DSL,cable, FTTx) in their earlier years when IP transit charges become cheaper year by year (and also 400gbps ethernet should be coming in year 2017 somemore). Network cap should only be feasible on wireless service as the bandwidth capacity were too limited (1.25-20MHz) compared to docsis's 3.0 1Ghz bandwidth (42.8Mbits per 6MHz)

Your line is still at full speed? Considering the undersea cable is fix, how is the speed to US?
I'm still at typical 1mbps *sigh*

of course still bad la sweat.gif , those AAG not only used to interconnect to US alone, but to other part of Asia as well (Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam), hence increasing peering cost if the cable were down.

oh shit, the throttling is still ongoing cry.gif
how your connection speed via abnxcess speedtest?

this is common, deal with it smile.gif
the one that i complain about were 1/2mbps capping on any resource (including abnxcess speedtest server)

the low speed was because ABN didnt have enough bandwidth pipe, if you have alternative, better go to HSBB provider.

For the first time since a very very long time, an un-throttled night.

10 mbps local, 5mpbs singapore, 1mpbs texas.

Does this mean a bright future onwards? laugh.gif
The biggest test is tomorrow, weekends, hopefully I can finally enjoy some entertainment at home during weekends without suffering 2mpbs throttle all day and night.

usually at night, quota or no quota always slow. Night throttle been there since the beginning of time laugh.gif
But I'll try my hardest to fill in the quota and see hell again. Only 1.2GB will try to fill it up before bed and see if there is hell at the end of the tunnel.
