Position - Specialist – Level-2 Operation
Location - Mid Valley
Salary Range - RM 3500 - RM 5000 for the right candidate
Reporting to - Manager, Service Delivery - Group IT APAC

Job profile:
The Operations team role is to ensure that the performance obligations of in-house computing systems are met. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of systems management, maintenance, and performance. The Operations Analyst is also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on their findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve malfunctions and make the appropriate recommendations in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Operational Management
• Receive the responsibility for new systems during a documented hand over process from 3rd level support.
• Act as second line support specialist in various technical areas and aims at resolving problems handed over by 1st line support.
• Contribute to a continuous knowledge transfer with 1st line support.
• Support the development of hand-over procedures between 2nd and 3rd level support
• Analyze day-to-day functions and processes of software and database resources to ensure they are performing within predetermined guidelines, limits, and specifications.
• Identify and resolve operating system issues in order to maintain services, enhance capabilities, and prevent system outages according to predefined error – handling procedures
• Escalate incidents in due time to 3rd level support for further treatment
• Support 3rd level support in troubleshooting incidents
• Maintain an awareness of known issues and identify resolutions
• Perform changes on systems according to a predefined change management process
• Continuously seek for improvements in the server or application environments in order to improve efficiency, reliability and performance.
• Potentially on call duty and/or fixed working hours
Your profile: Education & Performance Requirements
• Education in the field of computer science or at least 3 years or more of IT working experience

Technical Knowledge and Skills
• Profound knowledge of active and passive network components, routing and switching technologies.
• Working knowledge of core software applications, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, MS Exchange, IIS, MS SQL.
• Several years of experience in operation and management LAN/ WAN.
• Deeper knowledge in one or more of the following fields: VOIP, PBX, VMware ESX, Citrix, MS SQL, MySQL, IIS, Apache, Dell Server technology, MS SCOM, MS SCCM
• Microsoft or other Certifications are appreciated
