from experience.. 17 inch is excellent desktop replacer. beauty screen, stable, fast..superb..when u take out in StarBuck...wahhhh...everyone staring loh...
cons? very pricey. not portable- heavy and clumsy.
i felt that the 12 or 15 inch more practical. Extra cash use to upgrade RAM, buy a LCD monitor, lagi practical.

I must admit that whenever I see the 17in PowerBook at Starbucks, I am reminded of that scene in Shrek when he and Donkey first catch sight of Lord Farquaad's huge castle. Shrek: Do you think he's maybe compensating for something?

There's this thing called currency fluctuation you know? And of course, because Apple can.

Like I said, because Apple can. If you've got nothing better to do, you can go and compare prices of Apple Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia etc. and you'll see price discrepancies all over Apple stores worldwide.
That's just life.
