As my car is really lack of space to install a proper subwoofer box , i thinking of going the Active Subwoofer way ....

Does anyone try before ?

How does it sound like ?

Fyi i plan to install two of these enclosure eith 10" woofer & 150 watt RMS

Quite commendable for those underseat flatten type but still depending on specific brand/spec. However, for those active-sub in an enclosure box type that place in rear trunk boot that is much more desire. Having said that, I myself is using a standalone 10" dvc subwoofer in a customized seal enclosure placed underseat (if your front seats have some heights allowance) instead of opting for those active-sub type!

I've listened to such underseat active sub before. It cannot hit low enough but it does help a bit. In short, you get what you paid. Just test listen first before you decide to buy, some might feel that's sufficient already, some might not.

My ride is a Mercedes SLK R171 model , the underseat have some Electronics somekind like ECU under the driver side and a HarmanKardon processor under the passenger side which come standard with the car , so there is no place for me to stuck the active woofer under there , on the rear trunk because of the convertible design there is no place for the wires to go around and the sound proofing will make the bass not reaching cabin , so the only way was to install 2 of these active subwoofer behind the driver and passenger seat ...

the harmankardon audio is quite satisfying already, it had the bass punch but just cant provide a low down vibration that a normal woofer in a box produce

as the enclosure is quite shallow the thing i worried is the bass wont go low ...

i never tried before so need opinion from all expert sifus at here ...

u can upgrade ur harman kardon to other driver while remaining to use back the same amp.....it will give better result...proven on a mini i done last year...

i think you are better off with the normal sub. probably you can optimise the space by using fiber box for your sub.

I tried several active sub in my car before, i think due to the space limitation, they dont produce low bass. sounded like a midbass only .. *.*

Yea ... The sound system i had now just having that kind of midbass punch and just lack of that low down bass pound ...
