TS I suggest we include ambiance in the info section, meaning where the user will use the headphone/setup. Some people do not know the benefit of noise isolation or use portable setup at home, where desktop setup may be more beneficial.

What say you guys?

I've listened to some IEM n headphones, but has zero idea how CIEM would sound. Demo-ed a few, but I think it could've sound different with close to perfect seal in CIEM version.

So, here I'd ask everyone (yay!) for recommendation(s) on CIEM based on the preferences:

1. Music: Mostly vocals nowadays. Female vocals to be precise, with the shrill n sweet voice that'd be heaven! wub.gif A little bass wouldn't hurt, but I'm not totally sure if I wanted much bass (even though I used to enjoy Bon Jovi-esque stuffs a lot, especially on the drums).

2. Price: Depends. Preferred flagship models regardless of the brand. Price is always a vague definition....

3. Setup: As portable as possible. Now thinking of straight out from AK120 (old man AK).

4. Didn't forget to thank you for your input! Thanks-XieXie-TerimaKasih-Kamsahabnida

u mean gr07? most reviews saying that, so i dont believe every of them are using poor source smile.gif

GR07 is a little sibilant from my memory. It's clean, definitely not bass heavy, and a little bright.

For what purpose is the SRH840 or AD700X? They're quite quite different for different purposes and music signature tho... icon_idea.gif

- Your rig: Laptop/iPhone 4S
- What type of usage : Music listening
- File format used in your source: MP3/ALAC
- Genre of music you listen to: Pop/Instrumental
- Headphone/ earphone type : IEM
- Other requirements: Focus more in clarity instead of heavy bass. Comfortable after wearing for long period.
- Budget : rm200 - rm300
Did some research where most of the person will recommend IM50 for this budget. IIANM IM50 is quite bassy but I'm not sure how good it is in term of clarity. hmm.gif
*
Up budget, go FAD Heaven 2 for clarity icon_rolleyes.gif

A little bit over budget but I will take into deep consideration. Any other model to recommend which is slightly cheaper?  hmm.gif

Vsonic normally have clear sound, and for that price offered, they're quite competitive. Tho I must say, the ones I heard, if I could generalize on Vsonic's signature, is the bass normally sounds softer and overall clearer.

FAD's a little unique tho. You must try it to find out if you like it or not, because it's tuned differently from mainstream sound signature.

Actually, lots of earphones have lesser bass and wide staging. Your Shure's a matured one since you're using it for a very long time, and thus it's very likely that you get used to that sound. I can think of a few which could have what you want: Vsonic GR07, FAD Heaven 2, and etc. But then, they all sound a little different here and there from what you got used to in your Shure. Have you tried the Shure's 112?

Btw, regarding the sleeves, I think you could find third party tips somewhere. Things like the latest JVC tips, Phonak tips... I'm not sure what's the size of your Shure, but I think there's definitely a suitable replacement for you.

- Your rig: PC, laptop (all onboard soundcards), iphone 5
- What type of usage: movies, gaming (fps, dota), music
- File format used in your source: mp3
- Genre of music you listen to: rock, metal, pop
- Headphone/ earphone type: closed
- Other requirements (if any): none.

Looking at ATH-M50X, AD-700, AKG-K550 and Beyer COP.

Which would be the best bang for buck?
*
rock, metal, pop = lots of bass? COP, M50. K550 has bass, but if the fitting is loose, the bass could sound less powerful/impact, but it's really tight and fun.

Mp3? Bro try to find more forgiving headphones, ie. smoother treble. In my opinion, M50x and K550 both have great treble presence, which could make the music sounds more energetic but sometimes could've ruin it. A better music quality will definitely help to let both M50x and K550 sound better!

FYI, COP has mic extension for gaming.

AD-700 good for music. Movie n gaming wise, due to the wide soundstage and lack of bass impact (compared to M50 and COP), it may sound less "fun". Nevertheless, it's really good for orchestra or concert type music.

erm... even if its 320kbs mp3, still not good enough? flac takes up a lot of space. haha
*
Haha don't get me wrong ya. I'm not saying "not good enough". I mean, probably not good enough. I'm generalizing here, I admit. Haha. Well, if the songs are properly mastered, mp3 won't be a problem. FLAC or not, it's really depending on the song's mastering quality itself. Usually, the case is that mp3 referred to those half pail water pop rock stuffs which will sound bad if the headphone is very revealing, exposing the mastering quality

Anyway, try bringing your setup to test with each headphone and find out your own flavor! Even tho my default vote will go to COP, go try with your ears! cool.gif
