hi sifus again..
thanks for recommending me the XP3 from Beyerdynamics.. love it after 100+ hours of burn in..
I'm now looking for a new headphones, for an upgrade for sound quality..
my budget is less than RM 1000 (good price to performance ratio)
my rig : n55sf laptop and my handphone SE elm with 3.5mm (gonna upgrade soon)
genre : all rounder
usage : music
been choosing between ATH-M50, Beyer COP and Beyer DT 770 pro (32, 80)..
should I get a DAC like the Fiio E10 or the amp, Fiio E11??
gonna get them from Jaben smile.gif
thx for helping again..

What's your signature you like bass? Or do you like sweet vocals or great guitar sound? Do you like neutral and balanced sound?

But if according to your xp3 I think m50 or 770pro suit you. You  can check out ad900x or a900x. If want entry level I highly recommend the e10. Sold mine off but think I'm going to buy another one for my laptop.

are the ad900x and a900x available in Jaben store because I don't see them in their online store.
where can I buy it from if it's not available from Jaben? I can travel around PJ and subang area only..
does E10 work with cell phone or it need a power source from USB? unsure.gif
i'm not a bass head but I do like warm bass but a bit more clarity.. XP3 really suits me after burn in..

Ad900x and a900x find from gshoppe bro. Or can order from japan like me cheaper but wait longer and no local warranty.

E10 can't work with smart phones without certain software. Clarity I think ad900x not bad.

okayyyy.. thx! i think i shall buy the DT 770 pro (80ohms) with the Fiio E10 so that it can drive the beyer to it's full potential..
just saw that the audio technica are open type headphones...
sorry that i forgot to put one requirement for the headphones that it has to have noise isolation..

No problem if playing from iPod right? Like not weak or anything.

Soundsticks play from Nano = fail.

I noticed Beyerdynamic has different versions of each model (ohms/resistance).
*
M50 has resistance of 38 ohm while the COP has only 16 ohms..
to give you how it compares to an IEM (beyer XP 3) which has only 16 ohms..
COP is easier to drive in that sense..
unless u are aiming for DT770 pros which has 32, 80 and 250 ohms..
if that's the case, u need an amp to drive it to have larger amplitude sound wave.. (except for the LE 32 ohms)
for m50 is recommended to get a portable amp like fiio e11 or a dac (fiio e10) to gain the best sound quality for the headphones =)

so far everyone seems to be recommending M50

but the potential buyers seem to be claiming bad reviews on M50

I hope shop has it so I can test out

Almost RM500 for headphones no play play
*
hmmmmm.. it's based on your music taste thou..
you definitely should try them out b4 buying them..
where do you stay? I'm not sure whether Jaben Subang has it or not..
I know that Harvey Norman has the M50 on display but don't buy it from there..
they sell it at a quite high price..
As for COP, you can try them at Jaben =)
I've not personally tested the M50, but COP I just had 10 minutes with it at some store at Kota Damansara
and from my personal view, it's quite good smile.gif
need to take a visit to Jaben to check the DT 770 pro..
plan to buy a new headphone and in the same dilemma as you.. xD
choosing between the [DT 770 pro (80 ohms)/ M50] with Fiio E10 or the COP..

oh u couldnt test at Harvey N?

Im overseas atm too lazy didnt go to store to test stuff out hoping to see whats on offer at the airport
*
I didn't brought my music player at that day, so I didn't had the chance to test it.
but based on my friend's experience, he said the cups of M50 are quite stuffy.. so he prefer the DT 770 pro.. cool.gif

I think if you're going to pay up to like > 500 bucks, it's best to test out whether it suits your taste or not smile.gif

yeap... so Im hoping the airport will have test unit of M50 out

mm yeah but i cant be bothered with an amp i guess, id rather have a composite all-in-one, even if those amps are small... if DT 770 is good i would take it, looks comfortable, just that reviews complain the sound is weak, while i didnt see that for M50

also it comes in so many different resistances, that means we just pick the lowest available? sometimes buying also inconvenient when theres product variation
*
i'm not sure about how does the sound quality differ from each variant but the ear pads of the 32 ohms and the 80 ohms are not the same (if I am not mistaken)
dt 770 pro are harder to drive for a portable device such as smartphone compared to the M50..
more ohms, harder to drive, less amplitude, weaker sound..
good luck on choosing them biggrin.gif

Hi guys, I'm considering to buy a new earbuds/earphone. I had a Koss Portapro headphone and i broke it in my bag, so I'm considering to buy something smaller and wont crush easily.

My budget is RM200 not including shipping fee and I can't go any higher. My genre of music is mostly bass heavy and I like bass emphasized earphone.

I'm considering Beyerdynamic XP1 it cost RM199 at Jaben, please recommend me if there is a better earphone and where can I get the best deal

I own the XP3 from Beyerdynamics and it's really good =)
but you really need to burn in for them..
if you don't mind burning in for 100hours ++, den it's really good for the price..
the clear edition (XP3) as quite good in the bass area as well as the treble (after burn in)..
it's better for a all rounder music type (IMO)
if u really love those deep down bass, get the XP1 smile.gif
hope this does answer your question..
