ATH-CKS55X should be really good for edm and house as well (around 200rm in malaysia, mic version for 150rm, normal for 120rm  from cdjapan - you do have to pay for delivery though sad.gif  ). I've used ATH-CKS77X which I got for around 210rm from cdjapan. Not sure where to get it from in Malaysia, but even if you did find it here, would be a bit more expensive.
*
IMO, the bass of CKS series is slightly bloated compared to the CKM500, compared it's more genre friendly. Other than EDM/Electronica, you could still even enjoy the CKM500. smile.gif

Hello guys, need help here. please recommend me a good wireless earphone for me to listen to mp3. right now im thinking of getting dr beat wireless earphone which i think goes for rm 290 at lowyat plaza.

anyone have better recommendation?
*
Avoid beats at all cost, let it be genuine or counterfeit.
If you're really into the style, consider to get the Noontec Zoro Wireless, it sounds 300% better than beats. Can work on either wired or wireless. thumbup.gif

getting ATH-M50X any comments or problem occured from existing users that i need to take care of ?

like durability wise or etc
*
Some people can't stand the comfort (hot/sweat) because of the pleather pads.

Hi audiophiles sifus, need your recommendations:

Rigs: Nexus 5, occationally laptop.
Usage: listening to songs inside LRT, watching movie on laptop
File format: mp3
Genre of music: Pop, jazz
Earphones: IEM
Other requirements: adequate sound isolation as i use it in the LRT often, preferably with built in mic and audio controls compatible with android.
Budget: below RM150

I'm not a serious audiophile, so my requirement also not very high. Currently looking at Xiaomi Piston or Apple earpods, are they good? And are there any better choices out there? Thank you
*
I recommend Xiaomi Pistons V2.1. smile.gif
SoundMAGIC E10 is not a bad choice though, but a little dark for jazz liking and there's no remote/mic built in.

- Your rig: PC, laptop (all onboard soundcards), iphone 5
- What type of usage: movies, gaming (fps, dota), music
- File format used in your source: mp3
- Genre of music you listen to: rock, metal, pop
- Headphone/ earphone type: closed
- Other requirements (if any): none.

Looking at ATH-M50X, AD-700, AKG-K550 and Beyer COP.

Which would be the best bang for buck?
*
AD700 is not closed back headphone.

Best bang for bucks?
IMO, the M50X suits well for your preference. AFAIK, metal/rock lover won't prefer the K550 since the treble is a little shrill and it's very hard to get a good fit, COP a little too dark for your metal/rock liking.

What about Sony MDR-7506? Seems cheap. But them being studio cans, would it be too analytical?
*
MDR-7506 is quite analytical and not musical. It was a good buy for years ago, nowadays a lot of headphones are better choice within the price range.

QUOTE(Ask_Yip @ Aug 12 2014, 08:47 AM)
I don't see people using this for gaming lol
*
MDR7506 has the most horrendous soundstage among all the selection he has stated doh.gif

Anyone owns a pair of HD381 , HD381f or HD381B?
I would like to get a pair due to all the good reviews, however i did see some complaints about the build quality too, any owner could advice on the quality?
I'm currently using Philips SHE8000, cost RM70 when I bought it 2 years ago and boy this earphones is durable, I've use it violently for 2 years, even accidentally put them in a washing machine once.
so anyone could give me an idea how durable are these superlux? nt putting them in washing machine ofcoz lol

PS: RM60 for HD381F from lelong, is it a good price? smile.gif
*
Honestly, it's made out of pretty cheap plastic build, but no complaint for the price. laugh.gif Mine was still working for 3 month after that i've given to a friend, no idea if its still working or now, it was HD381F (fond of vocal) I would say if you accidentally pull the cable for once or twice too forcefully, it would snap lol. tongue.gif

haha is there anything is as good as HD381F if i'm willing to pay slightly higher price?
I think i like vocal too cause my philip was bass enhanced and i'm kind of bored of it already tongue.gif
*
I don't think there's anymore mid centric IEM around that price range. If you can slightly turn up your budget, can get the Vsonic VSD1s, although its not really focused solely on vocal, but for the performance at the price you can buy, it's really good. rclxms.gif

thanks for your recommendation though smile.gif

I would say the performance of HD381F is only 40%~ of VSD1s. tongue.gif
Nonetheless, enjoy your HD381F. thumbup.gif

i need a IEM that have a working mic button, volume button and perhaps a next button for my HTC one m7.
my budget is RM150 and less.
thinking about Xiaomi Piston 2
any other recommendation?
*
Piston V2/2.1 for your choice. smile.gif If i'm not mistaken, the piston doesn't have volume control.
Some other good notable IEM are Vsonic VSD1S/1, they sounds great but do not have remote/mic as per your requirement.

Get it from authorized dealer/retailer tongue.gif
Or else get a hold of the real original pairs, then try to purchase the exact same thing.

For VSD1/1S.. i doubt there's replica. blush.gif

Your rig: Computer (on board sound card)
What type of usage: Music and gaming
File format used in your source: mostly lossless
Headphone/ earphone type: prefer full sized headphone
Other requirements: Microphone preferred
Budget: RM300 and below.

Currently aiming for ATH-M20/30X and Razer kraken (pro).
Thanks in advance biggrin.gif
*
May I know your music preference? M30 is nowhere very good. Kraken is a bad choice.
Is it necessary that you need the microphone?

M30 is decent for pop. But since the bass is slightly flat... i doubt you can enjoy your house music with M30. blush.gif
If you can go a little bit for 3xx, look for Koss PRODJ100 biggrin.gif

I searched for M30X review and seems like the M30X got decent bass. Did you mean the older ATH-M30 ?
*
I heard the M30 but not the M30X. Nonetheless if I'm not mistaken, its mainly cosmetic/build changes rather than sound.
From what i can recall from the M30, they are pretty neutral and able to serve as a budget monitoring headphone. smile.gif And i don't think house/trance listener wants their headphone to sound flat/neutral. Unless you can get the M50, then it's another story. blush.gif

And for the Koss PRODJ100... some people even prefer it more than the M50.. for what it calls. brows.gif

For a bassy headphone under 300, for music I would prefer ATH Pro5Mk2. But if it is more for gaming, I'd go for the kraken pro since it has a mic and the sound fits better for gaming, but quite bad for music. Not the worst though.
*
The pro series suffer from mediocre clarity. Unless he's really prioritize bass over everything.

Hi, I wan to buy a 1st new headphone, can you suggest me?

- Budget : RM300-500 : low but good quality smile.gif
- Your rig (Pc : UD100DAC, Iphone 4s)
- What type of usage (music)
- File format used in your source (flac and mp3)
- Genre of music you listen to (rock, jazz, classical, acoustic, pop)
- Headphone type (closed - over the ear)

What I considering:
- M50x : Jaben & Harvey Norman Sell at RM700... I have test the units, so damn satisfy of it, but overbudget T_T
- Shure 440 : RM3XX... I feel like... too bright?
- M40x: no test unit in Jaben and harvey norman... wat are the differences between m40x and m50x?
- DT 770 pro : not consider it bcoz need amp and too exp...
- Or can you suggest me other model same like M50x? I actually keep searching for M40x... but no test unit... Price RM398

Thank you
*
Actually M50X @ 700 is sort of overpriced. blush.gif
If you like the M50X, you'll probably not very happy with other units in your options. Additionally, M40x sounds flatter compared to m50x. nod.gif
By the way, UD100 doesn't meant to be driving headphone directly, it's better to have amp to deliver the output to your headphone from your UD100. wink.gif

This sort of requirement really a PITA to satisfy. Pop and rock doesnt get along well.
*
Neutral response with slightly U shaped emphasis to suit, exactly the M50x. Pop will suffer from a little midrange recession... but who cares that about modern pop? tongue.gif

QUOTE(Exogenesis @ Aug 17 2014, 08:16 AM)
- Your rig : iPhone 5
- Type of usage : Music & Movie
- Format : MP3 / AAC / WMA
- Genre : Various
- Type of earphone : IEM or anything that fits nicely in the ear
- Budget : Below RM300
- Other requirements :

Comfortable to use and doesn't hurt after using for awhile.
Must have controller and mic and works like the iPhone earphone.

Note : Would like to get an earphone to replace the stock iPhone 5 earphones that come with the phone.
*
If you don't mind to stretch your budget to 4xx, i recommend you to get the RHA MA750i.

Thanks but that's out of my budget for earphones. Cause i'd rather get ATH-M50x if I'm going to spend that kinda of cash.
*
That's a choice which probably in the balance of having good SQ + price/performance + apple remotes.
Nonetheless, the choice for around your budget.
- Sony XBA-C10IP (balanced and flat, decent)
- Klipsch Image S4i (sounds mediocre, kinda harsh on treble response)
- Velodyne vPulse (bassy)
