Hi Sifus, can recommend me a good pair of IEMs

My requirements are as follows:-
- Clarity/good balance of sound (if possible good soundstage) is important, therefore looking for a BA or Dual BA if possible
- Usage mainly for listening to music
- Budget around RM400-500
- Currently looking at the Sony XBA-02 since all other dual BAs are so expensive. Oh also looking at the Shure SE215 altho its a dynamic driver, I hope its clarity is not affected too much.
- Am open to any brand, as long as u can get it in either KL or Singapore.

Thanks

Hi guys, I recently loss my westone 4r on a plane, big loss to me . I'm now looking for a reasonable replacement IEM around rm1k for use with my iphone without any DAC.  Currently considering the Shure SE425 as most of my music are old school, acoustic, classic without much bass plus it received an award from one of the review websites, buying another earphone similar to the westone would be an overkill . Is there any other earphone that is better around this price range ?

Also , does anyone know how the SE535 sounds compared to the SE425 and is it worth the price (rm1.3k compared to rm8xx)? might even buy that at a spur of a moment if it's worth it.

thanks !

The SE425 is the most un-Shure sounding model sweat.gif

If you are sticking to pure BA, you may want to consider the ATH-IM02 and for hybrids the Dunu DN1000 or the Sony XBA-H3 nod.gif

thx, which of the three would you consider as a good all rounder (music wise) iem? have no experience with hybrids, can consider.

Considering that I do have quite a collection of IEMs to play with, there are only 3 pairs that are constantly with me sweat.gif

1. DITA Truth
2. Dunu DN1000
3. Xiaomi Pistons ( spare )

This kinda pique my interest, may I know exactly how the SE425 is un-Shure?

After a few months of usage, I can only say it lacks the sparkle.
How I wish it had a bit more bite on the string instruments.
*
Generally speaking, Shure's house sound is mid-bass centric giving it a musical feel for the pop genre of today while the SE425 is probably the odd more neutral sounding in-earphones from Shure.

Rig : Samsung note 2 and laptop

Usage : music

Format : mp3

Genre of music : Techno, trance, folk

Type of earphone preferred : IEM

Budget : less than 120

Avoid over the ear IEM if possible. I would prefer those types of earphones which look like the white colour Samsung earphone.

Can I know any place around kl would allow me to get one of those earphones you recommend. Would be highly appreciative if you can post the images of the earphones.

I've listened to some IEM n headphones, but has zero idea how CIEM would sound. Demo-ed a few, but I think it could've sound different with close to perfect seal in CIEM version.

So, here I'd ask everyone (yay!) for recommendation(s) on CIEM based on the preferences:

1. Music: Mostly vocals nowadays. Female vocals to be precise, with the shrill n sweet voice that'd be heaven! wub.gif A little bass wouldn't hurt, but I'm not totally sure if I wanted much bass (even though I used to enjoy Bon Jovi-esque stuffs a lot, especially on the drums).

2. Price: Depends. Preferred flagship models regardless of the brand. Price is always a vague definition....

3. Setup: As portable as possible. Now thinking of straight out from AK120 (old man AK).

4. Didn't forget to thank you for your input! Thanks-XieXie-TerimaKasih-Kamsahabnida

budget around im70 or gr07, so should be rm450 and below? i listen to pop songs, actually any genre i also listen, as long as it's good music smile.gif sometimes i listen to orchestra music like game OST, movies OST, then oldies, jazz, soft rock, kpop, pop. I only dont listen to metal smile.gif

last time i audited phonak pfe112, i really really love it but the price tag is high.. now discontinued, altho still can find but warranty would be a prob anyway. Maybe i should try IM70 then.. if the high is soft, meaning to say if i love bright signature, then i wont like IM70? but i would found sibilant very annoying sometimes. Especially female voice with higher pitch like taylor swift and IU.
*
The cause of sibilance is usually due to poor sources rather than earphones sweat.gif

My daughter is learning the piano (using digital piano at home). Please recommend me a reasonable quality headphone for her to practice at home without disturbing the neighbours.

It has to be wired and not sure whether this is important but the headphone jack is the big one - not the 3.5 mm type. I suppose I can use the adaptor to change from the smaller jack to the bigger one.

Budget around RM200 - 300. The cheaper the better but reasonable quality for her to learn the piano properly.

Thanks for helping.

Hi, I wan to buy a 1st new headphone, can you suggest me?

- Budget : RM300-500 : low but good quality smile.gif
- Your rig (Pc : UD100DAC, Iphone 4s)
- What type of usage (music)
- File format used in your source (flac and mp3)
- Genre of music you listen to (rock, jazz, classical, acoustic, pop)
- Headphone type (closed - over the ear)

What I considering:
- M50x : Jaben & Harvey Norman Sell at RM700... I have test the units, so damn satisfy of it, but overbudget T_T
- Shure 440 : RM3XX... I feel like... too bright?
- M40x: no test unit in Jaben and harvey norman... wat are the differences between m40x and m50x?
- DT 770 pro : not consider it bcoz need amp and too exp...
- Or can you suggest me other model same like M50x? I actually keep searching for M40x... but no test unit... Price RM398

Thank you

Question : Should I get dt880 ? If yes 250ohm or 600ohm?

rig : cube c30 mp3 player , xiaomi3 , laptop , desktop
amp : Fiio E11 , Fiio E7 , Shoyun 306a , asus U1
headphone : ms2i, q701, AD900X , Denon D2000 driver with cap ayam casing
earphone : Cube F1, tdk-ba200, Vsonic VSD1

format : mp3 (320kbps) , FLAC

music : prefer song with less bass. most enjoy warmth and soft music. But most of the time k-pop, english hit song, anime song

reason for dt880 : wanted to look for a comfortable headphone that I can put on long time also will not feel like it is there. haha. Currently, even AD900X , maximum I only can use it for 4 hours.

I listen mainly to Spotify, extreme quality and with a wide range of songs ( classic rock, new age, R&B, chillstep, orchestra).

Would like to hear your opinions on the following IEM's my budget is 200-300. Thinking of GR07/GR06 or IM50. Thoughts on their suitability? Or any other options in this price range.

Lost my XP3's last week and looking for a replacement.

Rig : Laptop ( movies ) & Honor 3c
Budget : 200-300
IEM's.

Appreciate your help. Noticed many recommendations for AT IM50 but afraid I wouldn't find it comfortable.

Any recommendations for an IEM that is equal or better than SE215? Mine's starting to show age and I plan to get a successor for it within <600 price range. I prefer warm sounding IEMs (like SE215 obviously).
