lantak depa la

i'm not glad we have the highest amount of red cards, but a few seasons ago we were criticized for being too afraid of getting into tackles. of course a high amount of red card means that we're too reckless getting into tackles, but that grit is back.
and compared to the past few seasons i think we have more gritty 1-0 wins, last season we depended on the artistry of rvp, this season the whole team had to depend on themselves. so i think we're heading in the right track

Arsenal chief agrees salary splurge: Kroenke gives Wenger the green light to smash Gunners' wage structure

Chief executive Ivan Gazidis said: ‘Mr Kroenke has made it clear that our ultimate objective is to win major trophies. We all share that ambition. Arsene and I have been planning what we need to do.’

dream signing my ass

Arsenal want trophies not just top four next season, says Ivan Gazidis
• Chief executive will make funds available to Arsène Wenger
• Jovetic, Higuaín and Júlio César among manager's top targets

"Arsène and the team put together a remarkably strong and consistent run in the final stages of the season, a run of form of which we should all be proud," Gazidis said. "It puts us into the Champions League fight for the 16th consecutive year.

"But it is important to reiterate that, for everyone at the club, qualification for the Champions League is not our ultimate ambition. Our majority owner, Mr Kroenke, has made it clear that, while it's an achievement to make the Champions League, our ultimate objective is to win the major trophies.

"We all share that clear ambition and will be driving the club forward to achieve it. Arsène and I have already been planning what we need to do to strengthen so we are better placed next season. One thing is certain: the club is in a very strong position to move forward and our form of losing just one of our last 16 Premier League matches shows that we have a solid foundation on which to build for success."

^ because cazorla plays there now, and he likes to drift in the center to influence play. i think we're better off with him in the center anyway. which is why i want a fast striker, so that the new guy can play in the center to challenge giroud, and cover for lukas on LW, and restrict santi to CAM where he's the best

marco reus has really grown since joining dortmund, i wont rule out the possibility of him stealing away lukas's position in the german team

interesting... looks like fiorentina would rather sell to EPL than to their league rivals, so juve's out. the question is who man city will be bringing. if they decide to swoop in for jovetic we cant do anything.

west ham's winston reid has also entered out transfer mill. i think he's a CB iinm, so nope not interested. if we're getting a RB an unrealistic target would be ignazio abate of milan. with him and walcott on the right flank andre santos would be wishing he can play while speeding in his maserati

Reports have suggested that Arsenal have made an offer in the region of €28m but this has been denied.

“In my view, Arsene Wenger has no interest in Jovetic, as we haven’t had any contact with them,” director of sport Pradè told Rai Sport.

“The Arsenal option does not exist. The situation will be resolved directly by the President and we are there to see what happens. Obviously, we’d be very happy if Jovetic decided to stay with us.”

i wont be pleased if that happens. with our notorious injury record who will step in when either per/kosc gets injured? and our defensive record this season was second best, because not only we had two class centrebacks (vermaelen, mertesacker), we also had another class centerback (kosc) when one of the main CBs (verm) is out of form. is it impossible to see one of the pair (per, kosc) falling out of form next season, when arguably our best CB of the past seasons had that sort of experience this season?

daily star has picked up the gonzalo higuain rumour at 19mil, since mourinho apparently trying to hijack our move for jove. now that SAF's gone i would consider wenger and mourinho to be the next fiery duo.

AOC on rvjudas's transfer

Oxlade-Chamberlain, 19, said: “It is always going to be a blow when you lose someone like Robin, who is a world class striker.

“But from a team point of view, it has helped us massively because no team is about one player. This season we have had to find goals from other areas on the pitch.

“A lot of players have had to step up and take the bull by the horns. I think Theo Walcott really stepped up and proved himself with his goals.”

while i dont claim to have seen the two of them play, i think higuain's strength is his technical ability and clinical finishing, while jovetic relies on his speed and trickery (based on a few articles and comments i've read about those two anyway). i would like to think of higuain as a lesser van persie, and jovetic as a more cunning walcott.

if william's arrival is true, i will be in rage. because that paves the way out for vermaelen. if not then i am glad.

arsenal's interests in the transfer market has widened to schurrle and benteke apparently, with the former the more likely to be bullshit. benteke was quoted by daily express to prefer arsenal if he leaves, tho these days even quotes can be pulled out of thin air.

Robin van Persie sends Arsenal fan Piers Morgan pictures celebrating Man United title?

As much as I hate Piers Morgan, I hate Judas more.

Remember this?

This shows you how far people can change.

yes i'd rather take lewandowski and break the bank rather than rooney and break the bank. i dont really rate lewan that highly, but still.

finally robben is useful in a final. i've seen his disappointed face with bayern and netherlands too many times now, it's good for him to finally win a final, with his own winning goal too.

i'd rather julio cesar honestly. tho if we're actually taking from a direct EPL club, rather courtois. not saying mignolet's shabby tho, he's good. might even convince vermaelen not to look elsewhere too, now he's got a fellow belgian in the side.

mignolet is pretty solid from what i've seen. him and begovic had been one of the best epl goalies for this season. i'm not sure how much i should rate him at tho, with per/kosc and two decent goalies i dont think we need to spend more than 10mil
