gotta be honest, i was pacing around in front of the TV when i heard bale scored. then his former soton mate walcott missed in front of a goal. i was left thinking, would he be left ruing that chance when newcastle equalize later? i was getting last year memories
thankfully none of that s!@# happened, damn my frayed nerves. |

very pleased with everything today
the fact that we trumped spurs made it even more special. very fitting for kosc to score the St Totteringham goal, the guy has shown incredible improvements since his birmingham disaster, and now is one of our more consistent performers. i just hope no one's audacious enough to bid for our defenders esp vermaelen, i like having 3 class CBs in the team, it's been a while since we have that |

^ chill la brada... there's no reason for Chelsea/Man Utd/Man City to not win the treble actually. we have tons of reasons not to, like the lack of financial strength as opposed to the blue sides, a lack of an established side with a winning mentality (Man Utd), and a lack of a 20+ goals a season striker (rvp, aguero, ba and whoever else chelsea/city is adding next year). tbh there's no excuse for those clubs to not win the treble, not us. i'm not saying we lack winning mentality, but from not winning anything for the last 8 years to winning a treble next year, isnt that a bit too demanding?
as usual, i'm taking any transfer talks with a pinch of salt until wenger says something. it's been countless times already since we had a promising signs for the season, only to be left with transfer outs and no mercurial signings. tho last year was definitely a change in policies, the departure of rvp immediately caused arsene to sign 2 strikers, and we even added santi cazorla into our ranks. we dont have players wanting to leave as well, maybe besides sagna, but other than that i think i have great expectations for this summer. we particularly need someone in ST, poldi has exceptional finishing but his movements as a ST is a bit suspect imo. that's why i think we need a fast ST now This post has been edited by Thumpy Ick: May 20 2013, 04:03 PM |

^ a decision of wenger which i support. regardless, wenger opted not to spend it mindlessly, which means the amount of money that he did decide to use for transfers is still less than the other big 3.
does this soccernomics explain whether wenger will be having more freedom to use the money next season? |
