QUOTE(Lego_Jason @ May 8 2013, 04:23 PM)
Hi guys,

Some stock updates from supplier:

10228 Haunted House is NOT discontinued. I apologise for misreporting this. It is confirmed Monster Fighters is to be discontinued and stock is already running low. However, 10228 Haunted House while belonging to the Monster Fighters theme, it is a Lego Exclusive set so it will remain in production even after Monster Fighters theme is discontinued.

Again my apologies over this mistake. Those who bought this set because of me should be thankful I made you buy it! lol! icon_idea.gif

Here are some prices and availability of upcoming sets that may interest you, this list is not comprehensive just random sets I find newsworthy:

This information is purely for your reference, please don't hold me to it! whistling.gif

Again, Ninjago fans should really plan on sapu-ing all the sets in their wishlist soon. Stock is running low.

So many sets coming in August. Targeting the Mobile Crane MK2. So.... doing to do CS like the X-Wing? laugh.gif Speaking of X-Wing, should I? should I? sweat.gif

As for the Town square I remember it somehow appeared in Germany a week back. This August release date is for EU, US or worldwide?

On the way back I stopped by TRU Pyramid just to scout the stock there. You know, in case there is a hidden Mr gold there.....

But Pyramid got no new stock! cry.gif

So decided to head over to Empire to buy the superman set with general zod and Louise Lane. The S10 all kena picit-picit already, so did not buy any.

And no, there is no Extremis Sea battle in TRU Empire.

This week's haul. Superman from Empire. Orang Besi and Mesin Perang from KLCC. Book from Kinokuniya. Was surprised to see it in Kinokuniya. Best part is the little instructions to build KLCC!

We managed to draw a lot of attention from McD patrons and passersby! Thanks to bro hades4eve walking around with the UCS X-Wing, someone stopped him to get my contact number to order the same set! thumbup.gif

Please spam photos ya!

I wish was there during the COD session to meet up with you guys and see the reaction of people there eventhough I have yet to buy anything from Lego_Jason. Who knows, maybe time will tell if I would haul an X-Wing or the technic flagship later this year.

OMG, looks like Lego has taken over your room. icon_question.gif Until you have to sleep with your Lego! sweat.gif

This thread is very crazy compared to the TF thread. Sometimes people haul the whole autobot or decepticon party in 1 go, but here people haul a few modular, ships, even death stars in 1 go doh.gif

Having bought both the Superman 76009 and Iron Man 76006 set I have a little theory on why the Extremis Sea Battle set is cheaper than the supposedly similar priced Superman set. Prior to the arrival of the Extremis set by ALJ, outside sellers including our members here were already selling this set at RM 99.00 or lower. So I think ALJ must have seen that there is a big demand for this set here and BOM plus the fact that the sellers here are already offering this set CHEAPER and FASTER than ALJ.

Put it this way, if you are a distributor and you see all these grey importers bringing in this set faster and cheaper than you, I'm sure you will at least match the price they are selling. Otherwise if you kept the price at RM 139.90 similar to the Superman set you can see all your potential purchasers run and go to these grey importers and since the demand is high for a set like this grey importers will make a killing.

Now, why are the Superman sets priced more expensive than the Ironman sets? My question is this; I did not see any sellers here do any CS or selling this Superman set unlike the Iron man set where I saw got a few people bring in quite a large quantities of it. So the price "bar" so to speak was never set. Same like Lone Ranger, no one seem to have brought it in early.

Just my 2 cents on the different in price although I am sure there are other reasons too.

Btw, the summer 2013 Star Wars sets like the Republic Gunship, Sail Barge are already on sale on Shop At Home in some Euro countries. I wonder if anyone here is going to bring in these sets? I know the bar has been set for the UCS X-wing price as our good friend has brought in the 1st batch.

Yup, there will be a reduction for the next bunch of releases. Don't quote me for it but this was what I got wind of  hmm.gif

Palace Cinema RM629
Creator Family House RM279
Creator Tree House RM139

*
Wah.. So CHEAP!! I mean, I got my Palace Cinema when it just came out in early March at approximately RM 800+. Of course that time I pulled the trigger coz I knew I would be one of the early adopters and willing to pay a little higher than usual. Also that time dunno what is the price and estimated it would cost RM 899 like the other modulars.

The price of the family house looks good too! If it is good then I might want to buy 2-3 sets to build a modular.

QUOTE(tanghm @ May 13 2013, 12:18 PM)
What now ? ALJ finally getting the message that our LEGO is way overpriced ?
*
I think so. So far ALJ didn't quite do my business very well since I bought some large sets like FB, PC, LOTR, Maersk Train etc from sources other than ALJ. Brickboy and TRU also not very often unless the item is RM 150 and below.

So I guess if ALJ want my business back for large sets they better offer it at a competitive price AND ahead of all the resellers. Like how fast I can get my Palace Cinema when 1 lubang came out... whistling.gif

QUOTE(Lego_Jason @ May 13 2013, 02:57 PM)
Wow! The rumoured new pricing structure drew lots of interests! Went out for lunch and missed a few pages already! rclxub.gif

I didn't have a good lunch because at the back of my mind I keep seeing the price of RM629 for Palace Cinema which I have sold at RM700 to so many peeps! cry.gif I felt bad that my friends didn't get a good deal. If this is really a sign of things to come then I am truly happy because finally we can enjoy lower prices for Lego in Malaysia! However, at the same time I am starting to share the same dislike for ALJ now. If they can really offer it at RM629 why haven't they done so earlier? I remember seeing it at BBT Garden and a few TRU stores before and it was very much higher. I can't help but to think ALJ is trying to "bomb" prices for the popular sets to teach resellers a lesson... My next question is are the new low prices here to stay or they will be increased when this marketing campaign is over?

I really hope to see lower prices across the board for Lego, we have been suffering for too long. All the importing we're doing is only enriching the pockets of courier companies and the tax man.

I am very sure representatives from ALJ, Brickboys are lurking here in the forum, after all this is their business and grey importers do affect them. So ALJ and to some extent TLG, wake up and buck up!  shakehead.gif

Someone in Amcorp Mall mentioned about the mass COD in SS2 McD? Wow! News spread quickly! Actually I had two COD outside Amcorp Mall yesterday, I did it for two person who couldn't make it to Tmn Tun on Saturday and they were shopping at Amcorp Mall. whistling.gif
*
Keep up the good work my friend! although ALJ offer cheaper price gods knows when the sets will arrive to our shore or the stock that they bring in is enough to cater for the demand. Like the Arkham Asylum, while it has a good price but the stock is very very limited! Same for the Palace Cinema, I bought it when it was available because I did not know when the set will arrive here. See how long it took for the haunted house to arrive here? Then I recall it took quite a while for the Town hall to arrive too!

Then of course the high price for licence sets like Star Wars, Superheroes etc. Some sets like Jabba's Palace and Rancor pit are insanely priced like there is some "license" tax on it. No one knows for sure how much ALJ will sell sets like the Sail barge or Republic Gunship yet. So there still avenues for resellers on this front. Then of course is the UCS X-Wing... whistling.gif

As for those who are still doubting or not sure to get a modular or not, below is the reason you REALLY should get a modular building.
