Business integrity matters. thumbup.gif

But some Malaysian sellers (other products) will argue day & night to share the postage, or ask you bear it again. doh.gif

hmm... wanna ask you all...

7939 Cargo Train - around rm600.
is it worth the price?

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*
I got it for RM575 last few weeks. I think rm600 is worth it, unless got friend bring back from overseas. Overseas selling cheaper, but factor in the shipping + tax.
RRP in M'sia is about RM700+ ... more expensive than 7938

is the price of 79111 in TRU good?
i still havent hunt for best offer for it yet, tempted now  blush.gif

Frankly, 79111 @ rm450 = no.
SG can get RM375 +/- RM20, but need to bring ownself (or ask friend).
Those with US/Europe contacts may get even cheaper.

My calculation is simple: USD99 x 3.2 = RM316.80
For CS, mark up a bit, with/without shipping RM330-380 maybe reasonable (tax not included, but at higher range 380+ maybe inclusive)

Landed price <RM400 sounds good deal.

Just my 2 cents opinion.

Lol TRU in SG is selling 79111 at SGD 179.90. Not sure about other smaller shops/hypermarkets. I'm not really sure how the shipping and tax calculation works but I always assumed that shipping is the one that is the killer laugh.gif
*
79111 I found in SG selling ~SGD150 +/- not TRU/Metro/Takashimaya wink.gif

Even if retail SGD180, I can wait Metro 20% sale = SGD144 x 2.5 = RM360.
Not yet deduct 5% extra member card discount.

e.g. recent I bought 42006 at Metro-SG RRP SGD109.90
Discount 20% (27-28 Apr 2013, 2 days sale, don't know how many years anniversary) = SGD87.92
Discount another 5% member = SGD83.524
x2.5 (actual should be about 2.48) = RM208.81

Of course, as I say, this is own carry. No shipping cost and tax at JB Customs (if they don't stop you) or if your car got kids.
Also, need to be at the right place, at the right time wink.gif

Can ask JB friends to help also. Registered Mail from Pos Malaysia should be <RM10.
Poslaju more expensive.

Hahahah this i couldn't agree more. Member card is really useful especially when you are in need of discounts hahahaha. Unfortunately, I stay far away from SG and so happened a friend was down under to help look around. Didn't bother to check other shops so grabbed it as SGD180 laugh.gif No border  tax of course laugh.gif

Sudah beli, just enjoy thumbup.gif At least you are early batch players. I can wait and patient a bit.

Afterall, I still have my Technic MOC to do (2 parts-packages just touch down KLIA and into Customs) , which should be sufficient for my 4x mods:
i) motorizing 8110 + servo steering
ii) replace 8110 steering mechanism
iii) add LA to mod 8110 rear dumper + add 2nd remote control IR for it.
iv) 8043 combined mod

Also, another set + parts coming back from SG today, to combine with the parts above.
There will be MOC updates in coming 2-3 weeks time.

Cannot lah. I don't have postage/shipping jalan. Some more can't hand-carry that much, and lazy to deal with locations COD/FFK/etc. sweat.gif
Also not going to disturb CS/sales tycoons here tongue.gif

Impressive to squeeze all mechanism into it.
- Disc brake thumbup.gif (although it is generally useless in this case)
- Sequential gearbox with reverse
- Ackerman steering principle

However:
- shifting can be better if it is synchronised. Otherwise the car slows down/stop during shifting.
- Not much difference in 1st and 5th gear.

WTA (want to ask)

what do you all do to those Lego box after opening it?
for small one, maybe can just throw? won't feel any pain...
but how about those larger one? eg: modular, or those exclusive one (eg: tower bridge) or those UCS (eg: sw set)
will u all just throw it? or flatten it? or sell it (anyone here collecting?)

feel like keeping my HH box but dont have a space... cos box too big (58.2 x 9.1 x 48 cm)
i kena nagged by my CFO...need to clean up n make room for new stuff...
*
Flatten it by pressing, or open the four-corners to be able to flatten it.
Put inside big plastic bags (rubbish type)
Put on top of cupboard or under the bed.

on this subject, i just wondering
lets say if the set got rubber tires rite,
wouldn't it be hard (deterioration) after some time?  hmm.gif
no way to check right, since ady cling wrap everything?
*
The rubber will harden, but even my ~25 years old set, it still can fit into the wheel-rim.
Problem is, the plastic wheel-rim becomes brittle and start to crack/break.
Box is stored in cool, dry and dark place.

For stickers, some can buy replacement from Bricklink.
For me, I scan and print out in colour at shops for few RM per A4 size. Can copy paste extra to fill up the entire sheet. Then cut myself. Does not look original or lookalike colour (I'm not in printing/colour separator/designer line), but at least get the idea of the sticker.
Then I keep the original in pristine condition for future.

QUOTE(aba9785 @ May 20 2013, 10:53 AM)
got any good ways to open the 4 corners?
most of my box still using the older glue type and i sucks at open it without tearing some of the box...
*
Just lift-up the corner, pull slowly. Prepare a pair of scissors and box-cutter/knife. If start to see the paper tear, cut it.

Use double plastic bags to be safe.
