Very disappointed with how Valve handled the server load. I read on Reddit that this isn't the first time this has happened during a major tournament.

The tournament ID is 65005. The rest you should be able to figure out on your own. Don't always expect people to spoon-feed you.

QUOTE(mengfart @ May 14 2013, 04:42 PM) just key in dota_spectator_auto_spectate_games 1 in console ? where do i put the tournament ID ? Once you use the command, you have to disable it later.briefly explain how it works can ? just key in everything and it will auto spectate and even after game ended it will look for another game to spectate also ? If not the game will keep trying to connect and crash. Check Reddit for reports. |

The stock TM router shouldn't have any problems handling DotA 2. I play on WiFi with 25-40 ping. The only time it does spike is when someone else is streaming HD video on WiFi.

QUOTE(Agito666 @ May 16 2013, 11:10 AM) that's the thing There are many alternative routers available, but the ASUS ones seem the most promising. I'm due to change mine in a couple of months time as the bundled router can't handle the load from my home server.anyone got experience spike when 2 people dota-ing together? with VIP5 right now i know spiking when 1 youtubing, 1 dota2 ing |

QUOTE(jax2103 @ May 16 2013, 11:50 AM) i hate ppl that not taking seriously in winning the game This is precisely why the "solo queue" option is a waste of time. Personally, I'd prefer if Valve gave us separate casual and ranked queues.they don't think about others that so hard to find the match but ending with lousy team. so not funny when you laugh around but other ppl effortly try to play their best |

QUOTE(jax2103 @ May 16 2013, 12:42 PM) Levels / wins / win rates are all equally useless performance indicators. It's good practice to add up the good players you meet in MM, as well as friends of friends. Personally, I add "low", "medium", or "high" nicknames to everyone in my buddy list. Helps adjust my expectations of the game, thus reducing stress levels. |

Common expectations of support players:
i. Basic courier + upgrade ii. Warding/dewarding iii. Smoke and gank iv. Die in battle to save the carry What most players fail to notice: i. Hard support doesn't mean zero farm in lane. Supports have all the right to ks a couple of creeps here and there if there's an urgent need to purchase wards etc. ii. #4 and #5 should have an understanding. #4 is reserved for heroes that require more farm, and are generally assigned the courier + upgrade route. It's important that the #4 sponsor wards etc. should the #5 be unable to afford them. iii. When not harassing in lane or ganking, supports should make the most of the neutral camps and try farm up some exp and gold. iv. Understand the gold mechanic. Trading the death of your carry who has no unreliable gold left for the lives of 2 enemy supports is still a win for you, provided it's not the enemy carry who has raked the kills. |
