Can someone advise if Canggu is an ok place to stay whilst @ Bali?

I'll be in Bali for 4 nights and originally, I intended to stay 2 nights @ Ubud and 2 nights @ Kuta/Legian area. However after going through the available accommodation, it seems as if there are more choices available at Canggu.

As this is a family vacation, we're not interested in the night spots; the intention of moving from Ubud to Kuta/Legian area is really to facilitate shopping biggrin.gif

@bali_surfer,
In that case, Canggu would be quite an oK place to be based at, right?! Would it be a good idea to just stay the whole 4 nights @ Canggu?

I also found this pretty nice accommodation but that's @ Jimbaran - perhaps I should move from Canggu to Jimbaran? What would your advise be?

@bali_surfer,
Let me check out the available accommodations @ Ubud - I'll PM U if I need more advise `k? wink.gif

PS: Jimbaran because the accommodation I found (within my stipulated budget) in atop a cliff & faces the Indian Ocean and the surrounding scenery is fantabulous too tongue.gif

@shannon_e,
Q4 non peak period in Bali is rainy season there. The difference is that it won't be as crowded, hotel prices would be lower but U wouldn't know if it rains or not wink.gif

Coincidentally, I've booked Bali for mid October in conjunction with mom's birthday so am keeping fingers crossed it won't rain when I'm there biggrin.gif

@shannon_e,
I'm NOT there to look @ surfers OR ang moh's. I'm there because I want mom's birthday to be special this year so decided to take the family for a hol to Bali instead.

I oredi booked me flight ages ago; I suppose U could consider comparing rates on MAS too - just do a comparison for the dates U want and check if it's worth paying the extra to travel MAS.

I paid a total of RM317 p/person.

Hi people...

Am wondering if anyone can recommend a driver @ Bali. I'm off to Bali this weekend and haven't had time to do much research.

Any help would be great. Thanks!

@stimix,
I originally planned to take mom for a nice holiday in Bali, to rent a nice villa for Bali but she asked some of her friends to come along and they're v 'troublesome' so I left everything to them.

They ended up booking into some stupid hotel @ Kuta! *siGh* I've been so bZ I didn't care - i know roughly what the plans are cause I did my research many months back.

Anyhow, thanks for all the information smile.gif
