Hi, me and a friend planning to go backpacking to bali this dec. Tumpang thread tanya, any1 has any experience backpacking in bali? We'd like to know : many ppl had experience backpacking in Bali here... but me, not yet...

1. Where should we stay which is the cheapest, but got basic amenities, atleast not like the toilet is lousy etc.

2. How should we travel about on a tight budget. (Really tight ) How tight?

3. What are the sights and food of Bali that are a must-see

Day 01:Arrival- Uluwatu Temple  (D)

Arrive in Bali, meet and great with local representative, and then visit Uluwatu Temple, perched on steep cliffs which have formed where the land ends at the South East coast of the Island. Built in the eleventh century, the temple is one of the oldest and most important temples in Bali. Before check-in to the hotel, enjoy BBQ's dinner at Jimbaran Beach.



Day 02 : Ubud – Kintamani - Tampak Siring (B,L,D)

After breakfast. Ubud is famous with its Monkey Forest and Art Market which sells a wide range of clothing, fabrics, masks and souvenirs. You can also find silver, batiks and paintings in various styles. After visiting Ubud Village continue to Kintamani , a mountain village which lies 1400 meters above sea level,a breathtaking view of Batur mountain, an active volcano and Batur Lake at the edge of KINTAMANI VILLAGE . After lunch visit  Tampak Siring " Pura Tirta Empul " is the temple of Tampak Siring, built around a sacred spring. The temple and its two bathing places have been used by the Balinese for over 1000 years for good health and prosperity.



Day 03 : Bedugul - Tanah Lot Temple (B,L,D)

Visit Bedugul with the Lake Bratan (1,200 meters above sea level) and the picturesque water temple Ulun Danu. Round out the day with a visit to the famous ~ Tanah Lot Temple built by one of the last priests to come to BALI from Java in the 16th centyry, its rituals include the paying of homage to the guardian spirits of the sea.



Day 04 : Coffee Factory - Transfer Out (B)

Visit biggest coffee factory to see the process of making Balinese Coffee in Bali and get free a cup of hot or ice coffee, transfer to the airport for flight back home.

I spent around 15-20mins at Tampak Siring just to take photos. Usually one will need more time (~1hr) at Bedugul and Besakih because these temples are quite large.

dear all again...anyone kind enough (everyone tat been there) to list out the "must go" places of your choice from the one u love the most to the least...=)

Hi all, anyone stay at tegal sari before and can give some comments on it? I plan to book the hotels through balitrips.net, is that site reliable?

hmm u sure u wanna go? i think the entrance fee is just not worth the watch..i  mean its some normal dance like sarawakian dance. rather spend that time shopping
