Has anyone stayed at Ubud's Tegal Sari before?

- Must we pay extra Rp75k if we have 3 adults stay in one room? (According to them, only 2 adults are allowed to stay in one room, even if we do not require extra bed.)

- Any lobang to get cheaper rate than their website?

Also want to get some advice from u guys. My return flight departs fr Bali @ 6am. Do u think we should book a hotel for that day, or just lepak around? Or book a small room, just to put the luggage and for us to catch a small nap? (FYI, there're 6 of us going)

Hi,

i was quoted RM1,400 per pax for the itenary below by one of Msia tour guide

Day 01:Arrival- Uluwatu Temple  (D)

Arrive in Bali, meet and great with local representative, and then visit Uluwatu Temple, perched on steep cliffs which have formed where the land ends at the South East coast of the Island. Built in the eleventh century, the temple is one of the oldest and most important temples in Bali. Before check-in to the hotel, enjoy BBQ's dinner at Jimbaran Beach.

Day 02 : Ubud – Kintamani - Tampak Siring (B,L,D)

After breakfast. Ubud is famous with its Monkey Forest and Art Market which sells a wide range of clothing, fabrics, masks and souvenirs. You can also find silver, batiks and paintings in various styles. After visiting Ubud Village continue to Kintamani , a mountain village which lies 1400 meters above sea level,a breathtaking view of Batur mountain, an active volcano and Batur Lake at the edge of KINTAMANI VILLAGE . After lunch visit  Tampak Siring " Pura Tirta Empul " is the temple of Tampak Siring, built around a sacred spring. The temple and its two bathing places have been used by the Balinese for over 1000 years for good health and prosperity.

Day 03 : Bedugul - Tanah Lot Temple (B,L,D)

Visit Bedugul with the Lake Bratan (1,200 meters above sea level) and the picturesque water temple Ulun Danu. Round out the day with a visit to the famous ~ Tanah Lot Temple built by one of the last priests to come to BALI from Java in the 16th centyry, its rituals include the paying of homage to the guardian spirits of the sea.

Day 04 : Coffee Factory - Transfer Out (B)

Visit biggest coffee factory to see the process of making Balinese Coffee in Bali and get free a cup of hot or ice coffee, transfer to the airport for flight back home.
sounds expensive. what do u think

Added on September 10, 2008, 3:39 pmone more question,

from the previous pages i read, if i contact the guide there, do i still need to prepare a list of itenary?

Added on September 10, 2008, 3:48 pmis bungee jumping still available in Bali?

What about dolphin chasing @ Lovina?

Club 66 still under operation?
*
quite expensive i thk.
i believe alot of forumers here spend less than RM1k for 4d3n or even 5d4n bali trip.
but, maybe u're staying at 5 star hotel tats why?

better prepare, not hard to prepare anyway... u can simply grab one of the 4d3n itineraries available here tongue.gif
u may hv better idea abt bali in the mean time... why not?

bungee jumping @ 66 still available.. i plan to try after mabuk sikit tongue.gif

lovina too far, im not going to include it in my itinerary (mine is a 5 day trip)....
i thk for 4d3n trip, better cover those "must-go-places" first...

Thank u for ur comment!
Tegal Sari staff told me they start planting in early May, so i thought i might miss the greens. Quite worried!
Since Tegal Sari is near to Monkey Forest, my friends and I will go there in the early morning, take a quick peek b4 the driver comes..

QUOTE(iamsobloodysick @ Sep 9 2008, 05:52 PM)
I spent around 15-20mins at Tampak Siring just to take photos. Usually one will need more time (~1hr) at Bedugul and Besakih because these temples are quite large.
*
is 1 hour enough for Bedugul and Besakih?
anyone spent longer than 1.5 hrs at those places?

By the way, thanks for the replies.

Hi all, anyone stay at tegal sari before and can give some comments on it? I plan to book the hotels through balitrips.net, is that site reliable?
*
Too many good reviews of Tegal Sari @ TripAdvisor

I think it's better for you to book directly thru Tegal Sari
And book few mths ahead to avoid disappointment, the hotel is too popular.
I've just booked 2 rooms for May 2009, wanted to upgrade to Super Deluxe, but they told me its fully booked cry.gif (but luckily still managed to get 2 wooden rooms la... better than nothing lo)

Actually i dont really want to go, but my friends do.
So between barong and kecak, we chose kecak, bcoz we dun hv enough time during day time.

SMS Pak Angus and he will be booked till end of may...alamak... anyone got a good tour guide to intro ?
*
Came back from Bali 2 weeks ago and got a good driver to share:

Email - pidongs@hotmail.com
H/P No - +62 87861 133227

- Very good driving skill (he drives fast but very safe)
- He's very familiar with Bali (well.. of course) and he brought us to several places that other drivers usually don't go
- He can get cheap deals (e.g. BIR Rafting Rp250k, Grand Puncak Sari buffet Rp60k, Jet Ski + Flying Fish + Banana Boat Rp300k)
- He is honest & kind
- He has a MPV and also a 11-seater-van
- Reasonable price. We went in a group of 6 with 4 big luggages. Among all the drivers, only Pidongs' vehicle can fit us. He charged us Rp1700k for 6 days (abt 4 to 4.5 full days). I think it's very well worth.

I hvnt got time to do a summary of my trip. Will post more info later.
